Project Freight Forwarding Manager\n\nLocation: Heathrow - London\nJob Type: Full-time, Permanent\nSalary: £60K - £70K\n\nWe are looking for an experienced Project Freight Forwarding Manager to manage and grow Project Cargo operations across a defined European region.\n\nThis role would suit a strong Project Cargo, Heavy Lift, Breakbulk, OOG, or Air Charter freight forwarding professional with experience managing complex multimodal movements across road, sea, air, rail, barge, and storage.\n\nYou will be responsible for managing project cargo enquiries, coordinating RFQs, developing service provider relationships, supporting business development, and ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of specialist cargo movements.\n\nPackage\n\nSalary: £60,000 - £70,000\n\nCompany car or car allowance\n\nBonus scheme\n\nPrivate healthcare\n\nAdditional company benefits\n\nFull-time, permanent position\n\nEuropean regional responsibility\n\nLong-term career development within specialist freight forwarding and project cargo\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nManage day-to-day Project Cargo and freight forwarding operations\n\nHandle Project Cargo enquiries across the European region\n\nCoordinate RFQs with customers, overseas offices, and service providers\n\nManage heavy lift, breakbulk, out-of-gauge, and over-dimensional cargo movements\n\nSupervise loading, discharge, and cargo handling operations\n\nOversee project documentation, customs requirements, surveys, permits, and compliance\n\nDevelop relationships with hauliers, ports, terminals, air charter providers, and specialist vendors\n\nSupport new business development within the Project Cargo sector\n\nBuild and maintain a strong regional Project Cargo supplier network\n\nSupport the development of pricing tools, operational procedures, and customer KPIs\n\nTrain and support branch staff on Project Cargo processes and best practice\n\nEnsure all shipments are tracked correctly through internal systems\n\nPromote Health & Safety standards across all project operations\n\nTravel across the region when required\n\nRequirements\n\nMinimum 5 years' experience in Project Cargo, Project Freight Forwarding, Heavy Lift, Breakbulk, or OOG logistics\n\nExperience handling over-dimensional cargo by road, sea, air, rail, barge, or storage\n\nStrong knowledge of project cargo operations, documentation, permits, surveys, and customs processes\n\nExperience working with ports, terminals, hauliers, shipping lines, air charter providers, and specialist logistics suppliers\n\nKnowledge of Air Charter operations and contracts would be highly advantageous\n\nStrong commercial awareness and business development ability\n\nExcellent communication and customer service skills\n\nStrong organisation, problem-solving, and planning skills\n\nAble to work under pressure and manage complex shipments from start to finish\n\nWillingness to travel across Europe when required\n\nFluent English is required.
