Job Title: Housing Navigator (Temp-to-Perm) Location: Derby (London Road Campus) Pay Rate: £14.00 per hour Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent Hours: 35 hours per week Working Pattern: Monday to Friday + 1 weekend per month Shift Pattern: Rota’d shifts between 7:45am – 10:15pm Start Date: ASAP Driving Requirement: Full UK Driving Licence & Access to Own Vehicle (Essential) About the Role This is a meaningful and rewarding opportunity to join an established supported housing service as a Housing Navigator on a temp-to-perm basis, supporting adults and young people to build independence, resilience and confidence. The role focuses on empowering residents through a strengths-based, person-centred approach, recognising talents, abilities and future opportunities rather than focusing solely on challenges. You will support individuals who may have experienced homelessness, trauma, social exclusion or multiple disadvantage. Through relationship-based support, advocacy and practical guidance, you will help residents move towards greater independence and long-term stability. This role combines housing management responsibilities with structured support and multi-agency partnership working. What’s in It for You £14.00 per hour (weekly pay during temporary period) Opportunity to transition into a permanent role Full-time, stable hours (35 per week) Meaningful, impact-driven work Structured rota with predictable shifts Opportunity to work within a supportive, established team Training and ongoing professional developmentWorking Hours & Flexibility (Important) 35 hours per week Monday to Friday working pattern 1 weekend per month required Rota’d shifts between 7:45am and 10:15pm Flexibility required to meet service and resident needsKey Responsibilities – Resident Support Empower residents to build independence using a strengths-based approach Build trusting, professional relationships with adults and young people Advocate for residents and support them to have a voice Support individuals to achieve agreed goals and move towards independent living Deliver engaging one-to-one and group-based interventions Provide practical resettlement support when residents move on Maintain calm and professionalism when managing challenging situations Promote strong safeguarding practice and resident safety at all times Champion equality, diversity and inclusionHousing & Operational Responsibilities Support delivery of housing management functions Assist residents in understanding licence agreements and responsibilities Support rent collection and financial accountability Conduct room checks and health & safety inspections Maintain accurate case notes and records on internal systems Prepare reports and contribute to service reviews Work in line with relevant legislation and organisational policiesPartnership & Multi-Agency Working Work collaboratively with housing, health and social care professionals Liaise with benefits, welfare and advocacy services Support referrals and coordinated care planning Contribute to continuous service improvementSuccessful Applicant Profile Essential: Experience supporting vulnerable adults or young people Experience of multi-agency working Ability to prioritise workload effectively Strong communication and interpersonal skills Confident using digital systems and case management tools Ability to build rapport while maintaining professional boundaries Resilient, proactive and solution-focused Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)Desirable: Experience within supported housing or homelessness services Knowledge of housing legislation and welfare systems Experience facilitating group activities Understanding of trauma-informed or strengths-based approachesSafeguarding & Compliance This role is subject to: Enhanced DBS check Two satisfactory references Successful completion of temporary period prior to permanent transitionApply Now If you are passionate about empowering individuals, reducing health inequalities, and making a meaningful difference through community-based support, we would love to hear from you. *This role requires a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
