Your new role We are seeking a skilled carpenter to support the maintenance and improvement of the site. The role focuses on planned maintenance, refurbishment, and new works across prisoner and staff facilities, ensuring all tasks meet required standards while complying with Health & Safety and security procedures. Key Responsibilities Carry out maintenance on all woodwork items throughout the establishment, including locks, doors, and windows (excluding electronic locking systems). Undertake planned maintenance of locks in line with locking policy, manage the lock store, and maintain related logs, including work for local courts when required. Install structures and fixtures such as windows and mouldings; measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials; and construct building frameworks including walls, floors, and doorframes. Conduct quality checks, condemn locks and keys where necessary, and arrange transportation to the central locking unit. Manage planned maintenance, refurbishment, and new works across the estate, including painting and decorating of staff and prisoner facilities.
