Building on our track record of delivering pioneering research, we are collaborating with Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Trust, University of Cambridge and the Cancer Research UK (CRUK) Queen Mary University of London Cancer Prevention Trials Unit (CPTU) to deliver the BEST4 Screening Study, a clinical trial into the early detection of oesophageal cancer. This project is funded by CRUK and the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). The trial aims to determine whether the Capsule Sponge test can be used to enable early diagnosis of oesophageal cancer and reduce related deaths. The BEST4 study will recruit 120,000 participants, who will be invited for a Capsule Sponge test on BEST4 mobile units located in approximately five regions across the UK. We are recruiting Clinical Research Nurses to work across different locations within designated regions to support study delivery, recruitment, data entry and clinical support. You will be responsible for managing clinics on the BEST4 mobile unit and will be trained to administer the Capsule Sponge test. You will work alongside established clinical teams, researchers, research nurses and administrators to facilitate recruitment, sample collection, data entry and clinical support as required. You will be required to travel to various sites and undertake clinics in a mobile unit. You will liaise closely with the clinic coordinator regarding appointments and cover on the unit and work with the Clinical Coordinator, Clinical Research Team and Project Managers at QMUL, Cambridge and EMS to ensure study objectives are met. You will be responsible for ensuring clinical and regulatory compliance and that each participant journey and experience is to a high standard. • Managing the clinic on the BEST4 mobile unit., • Promoting and nurturing a welcoming, professional and pleasant environment for all participants., • Providing and receiving complex information to explain study involvement and obtain informed consent., • Completing the BEST4 participant screening visit as per study protocol., • Confirming participant safety and eligibility for the study., • Completing the informed consent process with the participant prior to the Capsule Sponge test., • Carrying out the Capsule Sponge test on participants., • Managing a caseload of participants autonomously while contributing to the wider BEST4 research team., • Performing other clinical skills as required to care for participants during study visits (e.g., emergency procedures)., • Working in accordance with local policies and procedures and taking appropriate action in emergencies (detachment, bleeding, resuscitation or anaphylactic reaction)., • Keeping mandatory training up to date per local policies and requirements., • Collaborating with the BEST4 clinical coordinator to address retraining needs for Capsule Sponge test administration., • Inputting data onto the electronic Case Report Form (eCRF) and other related research databases as required., • Collecting, recording, verifying and entering study data with high accuracy in line with ICH Good Clinical Practice (ICH GCP)., • Working in accordance with ICH-GCP, National Directives and Research Governance of Cambridge University, the Trusts, CPTU and EMS Healthcare policies and procedures., • Identifying potential recruitment barriers and contributing to action plans as required., • Facilitating and maintaining effective communication with the study team, BEST4 Research Nurses and study participants; attending and contributing to relevant meetings., • Liaising with study personnel at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Trust, University of Cambridge, CPTU and EMS Healthcare as necessary., • Driving the BEST4 mobile units to different research sites as per the study schedule., • Registered nurse (NMC Registration), • Continued CPD, • Previous research experience or Upper GI experience, • Significant post-registration clinical experience, • Experience in performing nurse-led clinics, • A good understanding of clinical research, • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal/written), • Ability to work accurately and methodically with excellent attention to detail, • Team player with ability to work independently and on own initiative, • High level of organisational and time management skills, • Excellent IT knowledge and proficiency in MS Office, • Full, Clean UK Driving Licence, • Willing to travel and undertake overnight stays as required, • Motivated and enthusiastic, • Degree in a related subject area, • ICH GCP Training, • Knowledge of national research regulations, • Prior experience in cancer research and endoscopy, • Prior experience of working with Capsule Sponge device, • Bank holidays, plus 25 days annual leave, increasing to 28 after 5 years, • Buy & Sell Holidays, • Enhanced Maternity and Paternity Leave, • 1 Occasion Day each year (child's first day of school, nativity play, or birthday), • Healthshield, • Cycle to Work Scheme, • Tech Scheme, • Electric Car Scheme, • Subsidised company events and gatherings, • Wellbeing support from Mental Health First Aiders and health scheme #J-18808-Ljbffr
