Job Title: Lead Network Supervisor Location: Cranbrook and Exeter (Additional sites in the area) Start Date: ASAP Contract: 12 months Pay: £45k - £53K (Via Umbrella) Hours: Monday to Friday Overview of the role - Team / Projects / Key challenges The Lead Network Supervisor is responsible for the coordination, oversight, and compliance of all network's operational activities across the heat network portfolio. The role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of planned and reactive works, including carrying out leak detection activities and undertaking remedial works where required. The postholder plays a key role in managing and tracking operational performance, ensuring trends, outputs, and KPIs are monitored and continuously improved. They support all heat network teams-including London, the North, and regional operations-to ensure consistent standards, rapid response, and high-quality service delivery. The role also maintains digital network visibility, supports stakeholder engagement, and drives continuous improvement in network reliability. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership & Coordination • Coordinate day-to-day operational and maintenance activities across the heat network., • Engage with Customer Services, internal teams, London and Northern heat network teams, councils, utility providers, and other stakeholders., • Maintain accurate documentation for governance, audits, and reporting., • Support costing and preparation of operational work packages., • Performance Management, • Manage and track network and operational performance, including output levels, productivity, and compliance indicators., • Identify performance gaps and support corrective actions., • Produce regular updates and performance insights for management., • Conduct leak detection surveys and investigations across the network., • Undertake remedial works or coordinate specialist contractors where required., • Ensure works comply with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards., • Undertake or oversee environmental checks, PAT testing, HAVs monitoring, Safe Start procedures, and plant/tooling inspections., • Apply strong NRSWA knowledge to manage all streetworks., • Prepare, submit, and manage highway permit applications with Local Authorities., • Monitor Energy Centre and network performance data., • Identify performance trends and opportunities for optimisation., • Maintain accurate digital mapping and representation of the heat network. Essential: • Current NRSWA accreditation (Supervisor level)., • Experience in leak detection and remedial repair activities., • Strong understanding of street works compliance and permitting., • Abrasive Wheels certification., • Manual Handling training., • First Aid at Work qualification., • IOSH/NEBOSH or equivalent safety qualification., • Experience in heat networks or district energy systems., • Strong organisational and coordination capability., • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills., • High attention to detail with strong safety and compliance focus., • Analytical and performance-driven approach., • Proactive, solution-oriented, and able to work independently.
