You will work within Information & Technology Services (iTECS), a Division within the Scottish Government’s Corporate Operations Directorate, led by the Chief Operating Officer. The team is responsible for delivering corporate ICT and information services across the Scottish Government, as well as providing shared ICT services (SCOTS Connect) to other central government bodies in Scotland, supporting a total user base of approximately 23,000. The division ensures that ICT assets are protected and contributes to the delivery of customer-centric, collaborative, and continuously improving digital public services. In this role, you will manage, maintain, and develop key ICT products and solutions in our Hothouse development environment, ensuring workable solutions with secure configuration using high-performing, innovative products. You will lead the demonstration of these products, services and platforms, integrating these solutions with our current suite of tools to demonstratively provide user-focused outcomes. The main objective of the role is to ensure that ICT services are reliable, secure, and aligned to business needs, delivering excellent outcomes for users across the Scottish public sector. • Leading a team of technical experts to deliver market leading third-party products that improve our services, you will plan, manage and develop a Divisional Hothouse environment that encourages rapid IT development., • Use agile innovation methods to solve complicated business problems by truly understanding the problem and then getting the right product, processes and people into a room for a highly collaborative and cross functional approach that will deliver business outcomes., • Using evidence-based decision making, identify opportunities for iTECS to improve existing and new services to enhance iTECS reputation and deliver on our ambition to position iTECS as the supplier of choice for the public sector in Scotland., • Integrate services and systems to demonstrate maximum benefit for the organisation through our Divisional Hothouse to ensure business requirements are being met and exceeded where possible., • Enable upcoming service improvement pilots, research initiatives, and the integration of corporate and business systems., • Influence stakeholders and manage relationships effectively whilst building long-term strategic relationships to facilitate and deliver business objectives. Success Profile Success profiles are specific to each job, and they include the mix of experience, skills and behaviours candidates will be assessed on. Experience • Lead Criteria 1: An experienced technician to lead the management, development and integration of leading third-party products in a Divisional Hothouse including ITSM, and XMO. This role is critical in enabling upcoming service improvement pilots, research initiatives, and the creation of corporate solutions., • Lead Criteria 2: You have consulted with both technical and non-technical stakeholders where required to identify solutions and products that meet customer requirements, delivering technical solutions and/or projects to enhance the reputation of the business., • Using a customer centric approach, you have contributed to the identification of service and process improvements and promote best practice across the service portfolio of your team., • You have expertise in coaching and leading teams in Agile and Lean practices, determining the right approach for the team to take and evaluating this through the life of a project.
