HR Business Partner | Central Cambridge | Interim 1 – 4 months | up to £25.00ph Hybrid working – typically 3–4 days onsite (with flexibility around working hours and potential part time consideration) The ONE Group are partnering with a highly respected Cambridge based organisation on the appointment of a Project focused HR professional to join their collaborative and well regarded HR team, during an exciting period of transition and organisational change. This is a varied, hands on role, sitting within a complex academic environment supporting both professional services (20%) and faculty populations (80%). It would suit someone who enjoys balancing operational HR support with longer term project work and who thrives in environments where relationship management, service delivery and attention to detail are critical. The position has arisen due to an internal move and will play an important role in supporting ongoing faculty initiatives, organisational change activity and wider HR process improvement projects. The role This is a broad HR position with a strong projects and faculty facing focus. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, managers and academics across the organisation, supporting a range of people initiatives and ensuring a high quality HR service throughout. Key areas of responsibility are likely to include: • Supporting organisational change and consultation activity, including role redesign and restructuring projects, • Managing complex faculty HR processes including promotions, probation and academic recruitment activity, • Preparing detailed committee documentation and supporting remuneration related processes, • Coaching and supporting managers through people related matters and change initiatives, • Supporting ER casework including investigations and interpersonal matters, • Contributing to wider people projects focused on collaboration, leadership capability and evolving faculty structures, • Providing hands on support to the wider HR team during a busy transition period, • Supporting HR operational processes and service delivery where required What we’re looking for This role requires someone who can combine empathy, professionalism and process driven thinking with a highly collaborative and service led approach. The successful individual is likely to demonstrate: • Previous HR Business Partnering or HR Projects experience within an academic environment, • Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to manage expectations positively and professionally, • A highly service driven mindset with the ability to build credibility with demanding stakeholders, • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to navigate policy, process and governance frameworks, • A collaborative, team focused and adaptable approach, • Confidence handling sensitive conversations and organisational change activity, • The ability to balance strategic thinking with a sleeves rolled up approach Experience working within Higher Education or alongside academic populations would be highly advantageous, particularly exposure to academic governance, faculty structures or university specific procedures.
