A fast-growing and reputable early-years childcare and education provider is seeking an Operations Manager to deliver on their strategic priorities and make sure all sites are safe, well-maintained and fully compliant. The Operations Manager will have previous experience working in a similar operations role, ideally have experience working in an EYFS setting, and have proven experience executing company strategies. In addition, the Operations Manager will have excellent financial, leadership, communication, relationship-building and problem-solving skills. You must know H&S legislation and have HR/personnel development experience. Having successfully achieved the Investors in People standard at their main site, our client is now rolling this approach out across the entire organisation. Trainee Production Manager We are recruiting for our prestigious client based in Rainham, Essex. This is an exciting new role, which has been created through company growth & expansion. The ideal candidate will be mentored to become a Production Manager within the facility. It would ideally suit someone from a manufacturing background,who wants to take the next carreer step up from a team leader for example, but this is not essential, as attitude, aptitude, and willingness to learn count for more! Purpose To undertake a structured development programme to gain full operational competence across all production departments, with the objective of progressing into a Production Management role. The role includes responsibility for Health & Safety coordination, ensuring safe and compliant operation of plant and equipment. The role reports to the Director of Operations and the Managing Director. THE CONTEXT The Company is the sole manufacturer of its branded product; this necessitates a highly flexible and talented team to manage the production and health of the assets used to produce the product. General Responsibilities Training & Operational Development Participate in a structured departmental rotation programme (approximately 3 months per department) Develop a comprehensive understanding of all production processes, including both traditional/manual systems and modern automated equipment. Support the day-to-day management of production operations to meet output, quality, and efficiency targets. Support the department supervisors with day-to-day people management. Production & Operational Support Assist in planning and coordinating production activities. Monitor performance against KPIs and support continuous improvement initiatives. Liaise with production, engineering, and other departments to ensure effective communication and workflow. Health & Safety Act as Health & Safety Coordinator for the site. Ensure compliance with all relevant Health & Safety legislation and internal policies. Conduct risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations as required. Maintain accurate and up-to-date Health & Safety records and documentation. Administration & Compliance Maintain accurate production, maintenance, and compliance records. Complete reports, documentation, and internal communications in a timely manner Support audits and ensure documentation is maintained to required standards. GENERAL CONDITIONS Your normal minimum hours of work are 40 hours per week. 8:00 - 16:30 (two breaks of 15 mins plus 30 minutes lunch break) It may be required from time to time for the individual to perform other duties or job roles as dictated by business needs.
