Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Fire Alarm Installation Engineer to join our growing team. You will be responsible for the installation, commissioning of small-scale fire detection and alarm system projects across a variety of commercial & residential sites. This is a field-based role requiring technical expertise, customer interaction, and a proactive attitude. Key Responsibilities: • Install, commission, and test fire detection and alarm systems in accordance with BS 5839-1 and client requirements, • Carry out small works installations, including modifications and upgrades to existing systems, • Complete detailed job reports, commissioning certificates, and handover documentation, • Liaise effectively with customers, project managers, and other stakeholders, • Ensure work is completed within budget and timeline, maintaining high-quality standards, • Adhere to all company policies, health and safety regulations, and industry standards, • Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers or apprentices, if required, • Participate in training and development sessions to maintain up-to-date knowledge of systems and regulations Essential Requirements: • Proven experience in installing and commissioning fire alarm systems, • Strong knowledge of BS 5839 and relevant fire safety standards, • Familiarity with key fire alarm systems such as Gent, Advanced, Kentec, Apollo, Hochiki, etc., • Full UK driving license, • ECS or CSCS Card, • Excellent communication and customer service skills, • Ability to work independently or as part of a team Desirable Qualifications: • FIA Units 1, 4, or equivalent fire systems qualifications, • Experience with emergency lighting systems or additional life safety systems, • IPAF / PASMA / Asbestos Awareness certification, • Electrical qualifications (e.g., 18th Edition, NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation) How to Apply: If you are an experienced Fire Systems Small Works Installation Engineer looking to take the next step in your career with a reputable and growing company, we want to hear from you.
