Purpose of the role The Senior Technical Developer is responsible for driving the successful development of innovative, high-quality textile products from concept to production. The role provides technical expertise, ensures products meet performance, sustainability, and commercial requirements, and supports collaboration across internal teams and external partners. It also contributes strategic insight, manages risk, and ensures compliance, helping to deliver products that strengthen Camira’s market position. The day to day • To adhere to the Camira Code of Conduct and comply with all relevant quality, environmental, health & safety, data protection, and corporate legislative requirements Strategy & Innovation • Support technical strategy by identifying improvement opportunities and contributing to product development aligned with business goals., • Collaborate cross-functionally to develop innovative, market-leading textile products., • Provide technical expertise from concept through to feasibility across all textile developments., • Ensure products meet performance, sustainability, aesthetic, and cost requirements., • Manage risk assessment, specification development, and accurate technical documentation., • Oversee project handover to Product Management and Quality, ensuring readiness for production., • Maintain awareness of relevant legislation and support environmental labelling and sustainability initiatives. Research & Market Insight • Monitor global textile trends and provide informed recommendations for new developments. Networking & Representation • Build relationships with industry partners, suppliers, and creatives., • Represent the company at events and act as a brand ambassador. Customer & Marketing Support • Provide technical guidance to customers and internal teams., • Support accurate communication of product performance and sustainability information.
