    Chef de Partie – Shambles, Teddington This position is only available to candidates with a valid UK work permit. SHAMBLES is an independent, family-run restaurant in the heart of Teddington. We serve seasonal Italian food, with handmade pasta and dishes prepared from scratch using high-quality British and Italian produce. We are looking for an experienced and dependable Chef de Partie to join our long-standing kitchen team. The role Working closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef, you will take responsibility for your section and help maintain consistently high standards throughout preparation and service. Your responsibilities will include: • Preparing and cooking dishes to SHAMBLES’ recipes and presentation standards, • Running your section efficiently during busy services, • Completing daily mise en place accurately and on time, • Checking the quality and freshness of ingredients, • Maintaining excellent standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and organisation, • Following food safety procedures, including allergen controls, temperature checks and stock rotation, • Minimising waste and using ingredients responsibly, • Assisting with deliveries, storage and stock control, • Supporting and training junior members of the kitchen team, • Communicating clearly with the Head Chef, Sous Chef and front-of-house team, • Contributing ideas for seasonal dishes and menu development About you We are looking for someone who: • Has previous experience as a Chef de Partie or an experienced Commis Chef ready to progress, • Has strong basic cooking skills and a genuine interest in Italian and seasonal food, • Is organised, reliable and capable of managing a section during a busy service, • Takes pride in consistency, presentation and attention to detail, • Understands food hygiene, allergens and safe kitchen practices, • Works calmly under pressure and communicates well with the team, • Is willing to learn and contribute rather than simply clock in and disappear, • Has the right to work in the UK Experience making fresh pasta would be an advantage, but training can be provided to the right person. REQUIREMENTS • Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef within a high-end restaurant., • Excellent organisation and time-management skills., • Ability to remain calm and lead effectively during busy services., • A good knowledge of English is essential for this role. Understanding of Italian would be an advantage., • Knowledge of Italian Cuisine is a plus., • Reliable, punctual and professional. The restaurant will currently operates Tuesday to Sunday, offering lunch and dinner service. As the restaurant grows, we plan to open 7 days a week for both lunch and dinner.
