We are offering an exciting Unity 3D Game Developer Volunteer Work Experience Programme for aspiring developers who want to develop their technical skills, gain practical experience and build a stronger portfolio. This opportunity is particularly suited to students, graduates, self-taught developers and people at the beginning of their careers who may have learned Unity or C# but need practical experience to take the next step. The Opportunity You will receive guidance and training while gaining practical experience with Unity 3D and C#. As part of the programme, you will have the opportunity to work on prototype educational games and interactive experiences designed with children and young people in mind. The programme combines technical development with employability support, giving you the opportunity to strengthen your Unity skills, portfolio, CV and understanding of working within the UK education technology sector. Depending on the project, you may gain experience in: • Unity 3D game development, • C# scripting, • Gameplay mechanics and systems, • UI and user experience, • Creating engaging, child-friendly digital experiences, • Educational game concepts, • Debugging and testing, • Game development workflows, • Turning ideas and concepts into working prototypes, • Building and presenting projects for your portfolio Free Training & Development We want this experience to contribute to your longer-term career development. Participants will receive support including: • Free Unity 3D training and guidance, • One-to-one CV building and tailoring, • Personalised CV feedback for technology and game-development roles, • One-to-one career and employability support, • Portfolio development guidance, • Advice on how to present Unity projects professionally, • Practical Unity and C# development experience, • Regular mentoring and feedback, • Guidance on professional development workflows, • Experience within an organisation working with UK schools, • A reference upon successful completion, where appropriate Our aim is for you to finish the programme with more than something to add to your CV. We want you to leave with stronger technical skills, practical experience, an improved portfolio and a professionally tailored CV that can support your next career move. Who We’re Looking For You do not need to be an experienced professional game developer. We would particularly like to hear from: • University students, • Recent graduates, • Junior developers, • Self-taught programmers, • Aspiring game developers, • Career changers with an interest in game development, • Developers looking to build practical Unity experience Basic knowledge of Unity 3D and/or C# would be beneficial. More importantly, we’re looking for someone who is: • Willing to learn, • Creative and enthusiastic, • Interested in game development, • Interested in technology and education, • Comfortable receiving feedback, • Keen to develop their portfolio and professional skills Experience developing games for children or schools is not required. Why Educational Game Development? Working with technology in education provides a different challenge from conventional game development. You will have the opportunity to think about how games and interactive technology can make learning more engaging, accessible and enjoyable for children. As Kovicas works with schools in the UK, this programme can also give you valuable exposure to how technology is developed and considered within an educational environment. Potential Future Opportunities This programme is not a guarantee of employment. However, as Kovicas continues to grow, paid employment or contract opportunities may become available from time to time. Participants are welcome to apply for suitable paid opportunities if they become available, and experience gained during the programme may help demonstrate their skills. Any future paid role would be subject to a separate application, selection process and employment or contractor agreement. Important Information This is a voluntary, unpaid work-experience and training opportunity focused on learning, skills development, employability and portfolio experience.     Part-Time Business Operations & Marketing Assistant Hybrid – Ealing, London | Approximately 2 days per week Berenice London is a growing luxury bespoke wig company based in Ealing, London. We are looking for a highly organised, proactive and tech-confident Business Operations & Marketing Assistant to work closely with our founder and help keep the day-to-day organisation of the business running smoothly. This is a varied role within a small, growing business. It would suit someone who loves organisation, systems, customer communication and taking responsibility for making sure things actually get done. You will work directly with the founder and coordinate with our existing team, including our social media/content team and external digital marketing partners. What you'll be helping with Customer communication & administration • Monitoring and organising customer emails, • Responding to routine customer enquiries in a warm and professional way, • Making sure new enquiries and leads are followed up, • Flagging important enquiries that require the founder's personal attention, • Keeping customer information accurate and up to date in Zoho, • Helping manage customer communications throughout their journey with us, • Sending and coordinating appropriate client updates, • Helping with invoices and monitoring customer payments CRM & automations • Taking day-to-day ownership of our GoHighLevel CRM, • Manually maintaining customer tags and ensuring customers enter the correct follow-up journeys, • Monitoring existing automations and identifying anything that needs improving, • Helping review, rewrite and organise automated customer emails, • Coordinating technical GoHighLevel changes with our external digital team, • Checking that leads and customers are not falling through gaps Calendly & appointments • Taking ownership of our Calendly system, • Managing availability, appointment types and booking journeys, • Helping with cancellations and rescheduling, • Making sure automated appointment communications are accurate and working properly Business & client operations • Helping maintain an organised overview of active customer orders, • Keeping track of important stages, deadlines and customer updates, • Helping make sure information moves correctly between consultations, customer records and production, • Helping coordinate routine communication with suppliers and external team members, • Keeping track of outstanding jobs and making sure they are followed through, • Helping develop simple systems and processes as the business grows Marketing coordination • Working alongside our existing social media/content team member, • Helping plan marketing priorities and newsletter ideas, • Keeping newsletters and marketing activities moving on schedule, • Making sure the founder records planned Instagram/video content, • Coordinating with our external advertising, CRM and SEO partners, • Helping monitor leads, bookings and sales conversions, • Producing a simple overview of marketing performance so we understand what is generating enquiries and customers, • Helping identify improvements needed across our website and customer journey The person we're looking for You do not need to be a senior manager or have years of management experience. We are looking for someone who is: • Extremely organised, • Proactive and good at noticing what needs doing, • Comfortable taking ownership of tasks and following them through, • Tech-confident and comfortable learning new systems, • Excellent at written English, • Warm and professional when communicating with customers, • Able to work independently, • Comfortable coordinating with different team members and suppliers, • Good at keeping track of lots of small moving pieces, • Happy working closely with a founder in a small business, • Confident reminding and chasing the founder when something is needed!, • Interested in improving systems rather than simply completing individual tasks Experience with CRM systems, email marketing, GoHighLevel, Zoho or Calendly would be an advantage, but experience with every platform is not required. Being organised, intelligent, proactive and willing to learn is more important to us. The role Part-time – approximately 2 days per week We envisage this being a hybrid role, with approximately one day per week working with us in Ealing and the remaining time working remotely. There may be an opportunity for the responsibilities and hours to grow over time.
