Hazlemere have an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join their team. Accounts Assistant – The Role: We are looking for a proactive and detail-focused Accounts Assistant focusing on the Purchase Ledger, to support the day-to-day running of our Accounts Department. This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys working across purchase ledger and wider accounts support. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial records, timely payments, and effective communication with suppliers, subcontractors, and our internal team. Accounts Assistant – Key Responsibilities: • Control of purchase ledger on Sage 200 including allocations, statement reconciliations and auditing nominal coding, • Verify subcontractors and carry out CIS returns, • Process and record supplier and subcontractor invoices accurately and in a timely manner, • Resolve invoice queries with suppliers and internal departments, • Prepare and process supplier payment runs in line with agreed terms, • Maintain accurate supplier account records and set up new suppliers, • Ensure correct VAT treatment and compliance with company procedures, • Assist with month-end processes, including accruals and reconciliations, • Monitor and manage the purchase ledger inbox, • Support audits by providing documentation and explanations when required, • Carry out general finance administration and ad-hoc tasks as needed Accounts Assistant – You: • Team player, whilst able to prioritise tasks and work independently, • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, • Previous experience in a purchase ledger or accounts payable role, • Good understanding of accounting principles and VAT, • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy, • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, • Confident communicator with the ability to deal with suppliers professionally, • Competent in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g. Sage or similar), • Ability to work independently and as part of a team Benefits: • 22 days holiday, • Pension scheme after probation, • Health cash plan, • Employee incentives, • Employee of the month, • Subsidised vending machine, • Social events, • Referral schemes, • Staff discount, • Big birthday/Long term service To submit your CV for this exciting Accounts Assistant opportunity, please click ‘Apply’ now
