About the Role We are looking for compassionate and resilient Residential Support Workers to support children and young people aged 6–18 within a nurturing residential setting. The young people we support may present with challenging behaviours and a range of additional needs, including ADHD, autism and global developmental disorders. This role requires individuals who can provide consistent, trauma-informed care while building strong, positive relationships. You will play a vital role in creating a safe, structured, and supportive environment where each young person can develop, grow and achieve their potential. Key Responsibilities • Build meaningful and trusting relationships with children and young people, • Support daily routines, including mornings, education, activities and evening routines, • Promote independence, social skills, and emotional wellbeing, • Engage young people in activities and positive experiences, • Respond calmly and effectively to challenging behaviours, • Work as part of a team to provide consistent, high-quality care, • Support children with additional needs, including ADHD, autism and developmental delays Shift Patterns • Shifts vary depending on the home usually long days between 10 - 15 hours, • Flexibility is essential, • Minimum of 25 hours per week Requirements • A calm, patient, and resilient nature, • Ability to engage effectively with young people and build strong relationships, • Ability to manage challenging behaviours in a professional and supportive manner, • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle, • Minimum 6 months’ experience working with children or young people (residential care, schools, youth work, SEN, family support or similar), • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one), • Applicants must be aged 22 or over (due to insurance requirements) What We Offer • Ongoing training and professional development, • Supportive team environment, • Opportunities to gain further qualifications and progress your career, • A rewarding role where you can make a lasting difference If you are passionate about supporting children and young people with diverse needs and want to be part of a dedicated team, we encourage you to apply.
