Groundwater sits at the heart of some of the most complex and consequential environmental challenges of our time. At Stantec, our hydrogeology team is growing to meet our expanding workload. From groundwater resources to contamination and remediation, we are delivering projects that genuinely matter, and we are looking for an energetic, innovative, and competent hydrogeologist who wants to be part of that story. If you are looking to build a solid career in hydrogeology and are ready for a role where your expertise shapes real outcomes, this could be the move you have been waiting for. We are recruiting a Hydrogeologist to join our UK water team, with the flexibility to be based in one of our offices in London, Reading, Bristol, High Wycombe, Shrewsbury, or Birmingham. You will work across a varied portfolio of hydrogeological and environmental projects, contributing your skills to multidisciplinary teams serving clients across the UK and, at times, internationally. No two projects are the same here, and that variety is something our team genuinely values. The role has potential for strong career growth for an enthusiastic and self-motivated candidate. It is expected that you will be interested in gaining professional experience to work towards obtaining chartered status in the next two to five years, an endeavour that will be fully supported at Stantec. A commitment to achieving chartership is something we take seriously, and we will back you every step of the way. This is a role where your knowledge translates directly into outcomes that matter. You will support the delivery of hydrogeological work across a range of project types, communicating findings clearly to clients who rely on your analysis and judgment. You will also play an important part in developing the next generation of hydrogeologists, sharing what you know with junior colleagues and, in turn, learning from some of the most experienced practitioners in the business. Your work may span field-based monitoring and sampling, drilling supervision, pumping test design and analysis, data analytics and numerical groundwater modelling, or geochemical and hydrochemical analysis. Whichever of these areas is your strength, there is room to deepen them and plenty of opportunity to broaden them. You will hold a science-based undergraduate degree, and/or an MSc in Hydrogeology and post-graduate experience in supporting hydrogeology-related projects. You are becoming comfortable navigating the regulatory, business and policy environment that shapes your clients' world, and you communicate with them with growing confidence and clarity. Beyond the technical, you bring professionalism, good time management and a flexible attitude that suits a busy, collaborative team. You produce high-quality written and oral work, manage data carefully and approach quantitative analysis with rigour. Most importantly, you care about doing the work well, and you are looking for an environment that shares that commitment. We put people first: We're proud of our friendly, inclusive and collaborative environment where everyone feels valued and driven to succeed. We are driven to achieve: Named in the top 50 companies to work by Glassdoor 2025. Recognised by Corporate Knights as one of the world's top 10 most sustainable companies in 2025. We do what is right: Industry-leading training and development, as well as paid professional subscriptions. A professional progression plan to support you in becoming chartered. We are better together: A supportive and collaborative team environment and Early Careers peer group, and a wider ERG network (see more on our ERGs here: Stantec Employee Resource Groups) Growth: We're on an exciting growth journey across the UK - we want you to be part of it!
