Administration of Affairs Paralegal \n\n • Location: York City Centre\n, • Job Type: Full-time\n, • Annual salary: Competitive in line with market rate\n, • Working Hours: Monday to Friday 9-5.30pm\n\n We are seeking a capable, organised, and compassionate Administration of Affairs Paralegal to join our Client’s Private Client Team. This role is ideal for someone with a keen attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a genuine interest in supporting vulnerable clients and their families. \n Day-to-day of the role: \n\n • Assist the Directors with the day-to-day administration and management of clients’ financial affairs.\n, • Process payments for care fees, household bills, utilities, and other liabilities.\n, • Monitor client bank accounts, reconcile transactions, and maintain accurate financial records and schedules.\n, • Liaise with clients, family members, care providers, financial institutions, estate agents, and other third parties.\n, • Support the preparation of documentation connected with tax returns, care funding assessments, benefit applications, and related financial administration.\n, • Assist with the sale and purchase of properties, including liaising with estate agents and other professionals on behalf of the Directors.\n, • Attend client meetings where appropriate, preparing attendance notes or follow-up correspondence.\n, • Assist with onboarding new administration of affairs clients.\n, • Maintain accurate client files, diarise key dates, and ensure compliance with internal procedures.\n, • Respond to queries from clients, family members, care providers, and professional contacts in a sensitive and professional manner.\n, • Ensure all file management, record keeping, and client communications are maintained to a high professional standard.\n\n Required Skills & Qualifications: \n\n • Previous experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, legal secretary, or administrator, ideally within Private Client or a related area.\n, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.\n, • A sensitive, professional, and confidential approach when dealing with clients and families.\n, • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.\n, • Confidence handling financial information and maintaining accurate records.\n, • Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively as part of a team.\n, • Proactive, practical, and client-focused approach.\n, • Confidence using technology and a willingness to work with new systems and AI tools where appropriate.\n, • High standards of client care, with empathy and understanding for clients who may be experiencing difficult circumstances.\n\n Benefits: \n\n • Competitive salary\n, • Realistic targets\n, • Wellbeing support\n, • Vibrant social scene\n, • Comprehensive benefits package including pension, life cover, enhanced maternity and paternity pay, health cash plan, staff discounts, competitive holidays (plus a day off for your birthday!), and a cycle to work scheme\n\n \n
