The Vacancy We have an opportunity for a BPS Operator to join our team at our site in Loughton, Essex. Reporting to the Finishing Process Lead, you will be required to ensure that the BPS machine output is maximised and quality standards are maintained, whilst adhering to health and safety regulations. • To maximise the machine’s efficiency to produce consistently high output and quality., • Minor problem solving on the machine, identifying technical problems and suggesting solutions., • Liaise with BPS Seniors to ensure quality standards are met., • Ensure waste levels are minimised., • Escalate any machine malfunctions in line with escalation procedures. Double Day shift pattern – Monday to Friday, 6am – 2pm or 2pm - 10pm (alternated weekly). From 31st August, we will transition to a 24/5 Shift Pattern - consists of 3 crews of 12-hour shifts of either: 6.00 am to 6.00 pm; and 6.00 pm to 6.00 am, Monday to Friday rota. Attendance is 40 hours per week on average, including a 30-minute unpaid break plus a 15-minute unpaid break to be taken during the shift. Debden £36,292 per annum on Double Days, rising to £38,574 per annum on 24/5 shift pattern. We’re looking for a skilled Utilities & Facilities Plant Technician to join a busy engineering team for a manufacturing organisation based in Loughton. This is a hands-on, multi-skilled role where you’ll be responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of site utilities and facility systems. You’ll work across key services such as effluent treatment, compressed air, chilled water, and specialist production support systems. Shift: 24/5 shift pattern (mixture of days and nights), Monday to Friday, 12-hour shifts Key Responsibilities: • Maintain and fault-find across site utilities (compressed air, chilled water, effluent treatment, water systems), • Support building services including ventilation, lighting, and environmental controls, • Ensure compliance with H&S and environmental regulations (PUWER, LOLER, COSHH), • Complete PPMs, inspections, and maintenance documentation, • Drive continuous improvement, reliability, and energy efficiency initiatives About You: • Time-served apprentice or HNC/HND in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering, • Strong hands-on maintenance and fault-finding experience, • Background in industrial or manufacturing environments, • Experience with utilities systems (e.g. HVAC, pumps, compressors) is essential, • Knowledge of water treatment, chemical systems, or CMMS is advantageous If you’re a proactive engineer looking for a varied role in a highly regulated environment, we’d like to hear from you
