Location: Gateshead\n\nContract: Temporary (Potential permanent role )\n\nHours: Monday to Friday (8:30am to 3:30 pm)\n\nAre you a sports coach or sports graduate looking to make a difference in an educational setting?\n\nTeaching Personnel are seeking a passionate, compassionate, and energetic individual to join the team as a Teaching Assistant. Your experience in coaching and motivating young people will be invaluable in supporting students with diverse learning needs.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nProvide one-on-one and small group support to students, adapting teaching methods as needed.\n\nFoster positive relationships, encourage motivation, and build self-confidence in students.\n\nUse sports coaching techniques to support focus, teamwork, and physical coordination among students.\n\nCollaborate with teachers to implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and track student progress.\n\nAssist in behavior management by employing strategies from your sports coaching experience, creating a calm and focused learning atmosphere.\n\nSupport students in developing resilience, patience, and perseverance through structured activities and learning exercises.\n\nWhat You Bring:\n\nCommunication Skills: As a coach, you’re used to giving clear instructions and feedback. These skills will be crucial when working with students who may need extra guidance and encouragement.\n\nAdaptability: Experience adapting training to meet various skill levels in sports is easily transferable to supporting students with diverse learning needs.\n\nBehavior Management: Your experience in maintaining discipline and focus on the field will help you create a positive, respectful learning environment in the classroom.\n\nTeamwork: Just like on the field, teamwork in the classroom is essential.\n\nRequirements:\n\nPrevious experience as a sports coach or sports-related role.\n\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills.\n\nAbility to inspire, motivate, and engage children.\n\nAn enhanced child DBS on the update service.\n\nIf you are interested in the position, please apply by attaching a copy of your CV!\n\nAll applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
