Studio Tour - The Making Of Harry Potter. The role has frontline Duty Technician responsibilities as and when required in response to the day-to-day technical needs of the attraction. You will also be required to provide the highest levels of customer service to visitors to the attraction and internal customers. This is a twelve-month fixed term contract position. Your Role Accountabilities... * Setup, operate, maintain, troubleshoot and control all aspects of industry leading show technology including lighting, sound, video, show control and integrated systems to ensure consistent visitor experience * Ensure all WBSTL technical and exhibition related maintenance requirements are delivered within agreed schedules and standards. * Assist with the delivery of live events as and when required * Ensure public and staff safety at all times * Monitor protection of assets and equipment within the tour areas in order to maintain the level of quality, reliability and maximise life span * Comply with internal health and safety regulations and working practices at all times * Maintain good communication channels across all departments including Visitor Experience, Studio Facilities and Corporate Archive * Work as part of a technical project team for themed feature development, installation and maintenance projects as directed by the Technical Services Management team * Contribute to the day-to-day running of the WBSTL and form part of the Visitor Services team covering weekends, evenings and school holidays 363 days a year on a shift pattern involving AM and PM shifts Qualifications & Experiences... * Proven track record in a similar maintenance position, preferably in the entertainment, visitor attraction or service industry * Knowledge of live event production and the relevant audio-visual skills involved in the delivery of such events * Experience of working with installed audio-visual show systems and fault finding and trouble shooting on these as required * Basic carpentry and maintenance skills and a good working knowledge of workshop environments * Previous experience of working in an operational and customer facing environment where there are significant numbers of the general public on site * Proven IT skills with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office and associated packages * Basic knowledge of I.T switch networks and I.P based control systems Working Pattern This is a full-time position, averaging 40 hours per week. The role operates on a flexible rota, including a mix of early, mid, and late shifts. Shift times range from 6:30 AM (earliest start) to 10:45 PM (latest finish). The successful candidate will be required to work every other weekend as part of the regular schedule. #SO Onsite Working - This role is advertised as Onsite, meaning all working hours and days (regardless of shift pattern) will be carried out at the place of work. Your normal hours of work are between 8am and 10pm over the peak summer period/weekends, and from 8am until 8pm at other times, though some evening event work (finishing at 00:30) is required for events. Shifts outside of these hours can be opted into, and these hours can start as early as 7am. PURPOSE OF ROLE: No previous experience required but you must be self-motivated and enjoy working outdoors. No evening or weekend work. Full Time- 37.5 hours per week Overtime may be available too. A bit about the role... Do you have a passion for great customer service and spending time outdoors? Don’t want to be stuck in an office in a 9-5 role? Perhaps you currently work weekends and or evenings and would like this time for yourself. Come rain or shine, you’ll provide a critical role in ensuring our commercial customers (not residential customers) receive accurate and up to date bills by collecting data from their electric meters. You’ll update meter reads accurately throughout the day on your state-of-the-art handheld device. What does an average day look like? On your first day you’ll meet your Manager who will guide you through an induction and ensure you have all the equipment you need to do a great job. Over your first 3 day’s you’ll work with an experienced mentor who will teach you everything you need to know. Once you feel confident to go out alone, your work will be allocated to you via your hand-held device and you’ll plan your days based on the location the work is in. Once you arrive and you’ve read the meter, which can be wireless or manual, you’ll record the information accurately on your handheld device. You will work independently and will have the motivation to work quickly and efficiently. You will be taking meter readings in businesses across your region (not residential properties).
