Fire Alarm Engineer Location: Wales & South West (field-based) Contract: Full-time, permanent Salary: £31,500 – £37,000 DOE + benefits Reporting to: Electrical Department Manager About the Company We’re an established, values-led fire safety services provider supporting clients across Wales and the South West. Our work spans fire detection and alarm systems, fire suppression, emergency lighting, Nursecall systems, and risk assessment services—delivered in line with UK legislation and recognised industry standards. You’ll be joining a business with strong quality and compliance focus, operating under ISO 9001 with ongoing investment in health, safety, and environmental management systems, plus relevant third-party fire industry certifications. The Role We’re looking for a motivated, reliable Fire Alarm Engineer to carry out the installation, commissioning, servicing, maintenance and repair of fire alarm systems and related life safety systems. You’ll ensure all works are completed to the required standards (including BS 5839, BS 7671, manufacturer guidance and applicable codes of practice), supporting compliance and keeping client sites safe and operational. Key Responsibilities • Service, maintain, fault-find and install fire alarm, fire suppression, emergency lighting and Nursecall systems., • Ensure works are compliant with relevant standards including BS 5839-1, BS 5266 and quality procedures., • Deliver reactive callouts and planned maintenance within SLA expectations., • Commission and hand over systems safely, ensuring accurate documentation is completed., • Build strong client relationships and support them with practical compliance guidance., • Plan and prioritise your workload across your designated area., • Identify additional works where appropriate (surveys, remedials, quotes) and communicate opportunities clearly., • Record job notes, test results and findings on a digital device (training provided).
