We are looking to recruit a Quality Inspector to join our National Distribution Centre based in the West Midlands (WS2 8DQ). Working 37.5 hours per week. The Role Reporting to the Quality Manager. Your main responsibilities are to ensure complete customer care by maintaining the highest standards of Quality. To maintain good levels of communication to enable individuals (internal/external) to understand and comply with all matters of Quality and safety. Key Tasks • Authority to pass or reject the product at Goods Inwards inspection., • Authority to enter, remove or scrap products in the quarantine area., • Authority to sign off COC’s., • Inspection at Goods Inwards to be carried out as per the relevant BMS instructions., • Responsible for standards control., • Responsible to ensure all gauges are maintained and calibrated at the pre-determined intervals., • To assist customers with any application/quality concerns as and when required., • Quality issues to be resolved in a timely manner., • Communicate with customers via email/phone and record concerns on the customer issue log., • ISIR to be completed at customer request., • Concessions to be raised and issued to the appropriate Key Account Co-ordinator to supply to the customer., • Vendor drawing approvals to be reviewed. TR customer to be consulted as required., • Manual COC’s to be completed as and when requested by the Key Account Co-ordinator., • 8D corrective actions to be completed on customer request on the CAR programme., • Responsible for quarantine rejections to be monitored on a monthly basis., • Responsible for tidiness of the warehouse., • To work to BS, Din standard and customer drawings whilst maintaining company procedures set out in the Quality Assurance manual., • To support all customers (both internal/external) on all Quality issues., • CAR programme – create, check and answer quality questions and close out when completed., • Complete QA reports on a monthly basis., • Stock masters – initial review and final quality authorisation, as and when required., • Approved signatories for Location’s certification., • Ensure the company TQM and Health & Safety policies are followed. The Candidate The successful candidate will ideally have a minimum of 1 year’s experience of working within a Quality role along with fastener knowledge. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, possess excellent communication skills both verbal and written to be able to communicate and build good relationships. You will be able to work to deadlines, remain focused at all times and have excellent attention to detail.

We supply a broad range of customers across the UK, from major retailers such as Argos, Amazon, John Lewis, Pets at Home and Boots, through to all major grocery chains, high street retailers, and ecommerce platforms. Our Wombourne Distribution Centre is a critical hub within the UK and EMEA network, distributing brands including Russell Hobbs, Remington, George Foreman. The site handles 1,500–2,500 pallets per week, operates across two shifts, employs circa 70 FTE, and is supported by a newly integrated SAP EWM system. Alongside our B2B operation, we are growing a strong D2C channel, shipping 5,000+ consumer orders per month, making this a fast-paced, complex and highly visible operation. The Role As Warehouse Conversions & Fulfilment Manager, you will lead and optimise the conversions operation, where products are reworked, repacked and configured to customer-specific requirements, ensuring efficiency, service excellence and compliance at all times. You will manage a team of 16 FTE plus temporary labour, driving daily, weekly and monthly performance while continuously improving ways of working, productivity and cost efficiency. This is a hands-on leadership role within Operations, with responsibility for people, performance, planning, health & safety, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership • Full accountability for the management and supervision of all conversions processes and activities, • Support the Assistant DC Manager to ensure operational KPIs and performance standards are consistently met, • Lead daily, weekly and monthly planning to maximise conversions efficiency Productivity & Continuous Improvement • Drive productivity improvements, reduced handling points and optimised product flow, • Analyse operational data to identify efficiencies and implement improved processes, • Lead the implementation of new procedures and improved ways of working, • Ensure performance consistently exceeds agreed KPIs Service Delivery • Ensure >99% of bulk orders are ready for collection within agreed timeslots, • Maintain a strong internal and external customer service focus People Management • Lead, motivate and develop a team of permanent and agency colleagues, • Manage performance, conduct reviews, address attendance and timekeeping issues, • Ensure effective resourcing, peak planning, holiday and absence management, • Build a high-performing, engaged and accountable team culture Health & Safety & Compliance • Maintain the highest standards of health & safety at all times, • Full responsibility for Zone 2 compliance, SOP adherence, accident investigation and root cause analysis, • Ensure all legislative and regulatory requirements are met Systems & Technology • Operate within and help optimise a SAP EWM-driven warehouse environment, • Champion data-driven decision making and technology adoption within the operation About you The successful candidate will be an experienced Warehouse / Operations Manager who thrives in a fast-moving, high-volume environment, with proven experience leading people, improving processes and delivering results.
