Role: Senior Project Planner Location: Port of Nigg, Scotland Contract type: Project contract on site. Key Responsibilities: • Review and analyse construction schedules, project records, and contracts to identify potential and actual claims., • Prepare and support the development of Extension of Time (EoT) and delay/disruption claims in line with contractual provisions., • Coordinate with project controls, legal, and commercial teams to develop robust claim strategies., • Provide independent assessments of entitlement, liability., • Maintain detailed records and documentation to support claims or defenses., • Assist in the negotiation and settlement of claims with contractors and clients., • Support dispute resolution processes such as mediation, adjudication, or arbitration when required., • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Law, Engineering, or related field. Master’s or legal qualification is an advantage., • Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in construction claims and dispute resolution, ideally within major infrastructure programmes., • Solid understanding of standard construction contracts (e.g., Mainly NEC, but FIDIC or JCT is useful)., • Expertise in forensic delay analysis, planning tools (Primavera P6, MS Project), and quantum analysis., • Strong analytical, report writing, and negotiation skills., • Membership of a professional body (e.g., RICS, AACE, CIArb, ICE)., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills., • High attention to detail and a proactive problem-solving attitude.
