General Manager | Delamere Health | Nottingham As featured in recent press coverage: a £30m facility creating 60 new healthcare jobs is under construction in Nottingham. This is the role at its heart. Delamere Health, founded in 2020 and the UK's only purpose-built residential addiction treatment clinic, has just broken ground on its second facility in Nottinghamshire. The 32-bed centre is being developed on the former Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue HQ in Bestwood, with Caddick Construction appointed as main contractor. Once operational at the end of 2027, it will support up to 416 people a year. At £30m, it is the largest investment of its kind in UK addiction treatment, and a purpose-built facility set to become the flagship addiction treatment centre in Europe. We are now looking for the person who will lead it. The Organisation Founded by Martin Preston, whose own experience of addiction shaped a deeply personal vision for what treatment should look like, Delamere set out to do things differently. Too often, people experiencing addiction are met with shame, judgement or environments that feel clinical and intimidating. Delamere was built as the alternative: compassionate, evidence-led treatment in a purpose-built environment where guests feel safe, respected and able to begin the work of recovery. The Cheshire clinic has treated more than 1,400 guests and operates at 100% occupancy. The Nottingham facility will sit within a 4.7-hectare landscaped setting with therapy spaces, communal areas, gardens and quiet reflection zones. Delamere is privately owned and founder-led. Martin remains highly involved and is unwavering in his commitment to maintaining the culture, standards and reputation of the organisation as it grows. The Role General Manager (Registered Manager) • Reports to: Founder and CEO, Martin Preston, • Location: Nottinghamshire, with significant time at the Cheshire clinic during the pre-opening period, • Package: Market-leading, seldom seen within addiction services This is not a standard Registered Manager appointment. Delamere is seeking a leader who can run a substantial, premium business unit with the autonomy and accountability of a chief executive, combining operational intelligence, commercial acumen and genuine human warmth in equal measure. You will join Delamere ahead of the Nottingham opening, spending time embedding at the Cheshire clinic from Autumn 2026 before leading the new facility from launch. That pre-opening period is a deliberate, purposeful investment in your success, not a token handover. Your key responsibilities will include: • Building and leading a circa 60-person organisation with clarity, discipline and operational rigour, • Full P&L accountability for a projected £10m turnover operation, including occupancy management, revenue performance and cost control, • Personal accountability for the guest experience, ensuring Nottingham operates at the same premium standard as Cheshire from day one, drawing on hospitality thinking as much as clinical best practice, • Attracting, recruiting and developing the Nottingham team ahead of opening, • Holding the Registered Manager designation with full accountability for CQC compliance, governance and quality standards, • Leading the end-to-end mobilisation of the facility, including policy development, CQC registration and site readiness, through to a high-profile opening What We Are Looking For We are not prescriptive about background. What matters is the quality of the individual. You will bring: • Proven operational leadership of a sizeable, complex organisation, managing performance, building culture and creating the systems that allow a team to thrive, • Genuine experience of owning financial performance and understanding the commercial drivers of a business, • A deep personal commitment to premium service and the operational capability to translate that into reality at scale, • High emotional intelligence and genuine maturity, with the ability to inspire trust, build cohesive teams and handle the complex human dynamics of a sensitive care environment, • Proven experience opening, launching or significantly transforming a service, with the planning discipline that mobilisation demands, • Working knowledge of CQC and regulated environments, sufficient to lead governance with confidence and hold the Registered Manager designation, without being defined by compliance We are actively interested in candidates from three backgrounds: • Premium Healthcare and Mental Health — Hospital Directors, General Managers or multi-site leaders from independent mental health, addiction and specialist healthcare providers who have been accountable for clinical operations, regulatory compliance and commercial performance., • Commissioning and Multi-Site Operations — leaders who have opened new services, managed multiple sites or led significant operational transformations, bringing mobilisation expertise and operational maturity., • Hospitality and Premium Service — senior leaders from luxury hotels, boutique hospitality groups, premium wellness or high-end residential environments, motivated to bring outstanding service capability into a health and wellbeing context. Why This Role Opportunities like this are genuinely rare. • A market-leading salary seldom seen within addiction services, genuinely reflecting the seniority and accountability of the appointment, • One of the most significant leadership hires in the UK addiction treatment sector in 2026, a role that will shape Delamere's next decade, • The chance to open a flagship new facility, build a team and a culture from the outset, with a proven and successful organisation behind you, • A twelve-month pre-opening period embedding in the Cheshire clinic, a genuine and purposeful investment in setting the new GM up to succeed, • Work directly with Martin Preston, a founder deeply committed to quality, culture and to doing things differently in addiction treatment, • Join an organisation built on purpose, where every operational decision connects directly to the outcomes of people seeking recovery How to Apply This search is being led by Rinnova, specialist health and care executive search.
