  Actuary Reinsurance Development Team within Corporate Actuarial Full-Time Boston, MA or Springfield, MA The Opportunity MassMutual is seeking a well-rounded, motivated financial professional to join the Reinsurance Development team within the broader Corporate Actuarial team. In this function, this individual will cover all aspects of reinsurance across MassMutual and is expected to successfully partner with the various internal and external businesses and partners of the Organization. The Team Reinsurance Development operates as a small center of excellence for reinsurance across the company. The team leads and oversees all aspects of reinsurance including developing, negotiating, securing, and administering both traditional and financial reinsurance solutions to support the operational, risk and capital position of the Company. The team also develops and implements strategies to optimize the Company’s existing use of reinsurance while managing and overseeing reinsurance relationships across the organization. Position Compensation Range: $25.00 - $31.25 Pay Rate Type: Hourly Compensation may vary based on the job level and your geographic work location. Primary Accountabilities -Quotes and sells insurance products to new and current customer. -Advises prospects on appropriate insurance coverage and options relative to prospect circumstances and meeting the needs of the customer. -Runs reports from various systems to verify accuracy of information provided by potential insured regarding insurance and driving history. -Explains coverage and payment options to the customer. -Responsible for outbound follow up on unsold internet leads which may have a likelihood of purchasing. -Services existing customer policies as required including policy changes when customer service is not available. -Follows up on underwriting department requests to ensure policy underwriting adherence and improve retention. -Attends sales meetings, seminars or educational activities to stay current with market trends, regulations and maintain state licensing. Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements -Possesses a thorough understanding of company guidelines with the ability to communicate those guidelines to customers and other employees. -Familiar with Microsoft Office applications. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills. -Able to multi-task with speed and accuracy. -Organizational and problem solving skills.
