Our Client, a Global Financial Services Firm, is seeking Trading Operations Specialist in their New York, NY. Responsibilities • Act as a subject-matter expert focused on DTC and securities settlements, partnering closely with Trading, Middle Office, Custodians, and external counterparties to ensure a high settlement success rate, timely delivery, and minimal aged fails across all products and markets., • Manage the full trade settlement lifecycle for domestic and international securities, with a strong emphasis on DTC settlement processing including Deliver Orders (DOs), Receive Orders (ROs), DVP/RVP transactions, P&I processing, stock loan activity, partials, and settlement controls. Ensure accurate and timely settlement through DTC, Euroclear, and Federal Reserve settlement systems., • Monitor and execute securities and cash movements across DTC, Euroclear, and Fedwire platforms, including DVP/RVP, free of payment, and cash transfer activity. Maintain a strong understanding of settlement timelines, cutoffs, depository requirements, and funding obligations across both domestic and cross-border markets., • Investigate, resolve, and escalate settlement exceptions, aged fails, overdrafts, unmatched trades, and cash or position breaks. Proactively coordinate with counterparties, custodians, clearing agents, and internal stakeholders to minimize settlement exposure and reduce operational risk., • Perform daily reconciliation of securities and cash balances between internal books and records, custodians, clearing firms, and depositories. Ensure all discrepancies are researched and resolved in a timely manner while maintaining proper controls and escalation procedures., • Partner closely with Trading, Middle Office, Treasury, and Client Services teams to resolve settlement-related issues, facilitate trade corrections, support funding requirements, and ensure accurate trade flow from execution through settlement., • Support operational risk and control initiatives by identifying process inefficiencies, documenting procedures, enhancing controls, and recommending automation opportunities within the settlements function., • Assist with audit, compliance, and regulatory inquiries by providing settlement documentation, trade support, reconciliation evidence, and process walkthroughs as needed. What We’re Looking For • 4+ years of hands-on securities settlements experience within a broker-dealer, investment bank, custodian, or asset manager environment, • Strong working knowledge of DTC operations including Deliver Orders, DVP/RVP processing, P&I, settlement controls, partial settlements, and fail management, • Experience supporting fixed income settlements including corporates, treasuries, agencies, municipals, and other debt products, • Knowledge of Euroclear settlement flows, cross-border securities processing, and international cash movements, • Familiarity with Federal Reserve settlement systems including Fedwire Securities and Fedwire Funds, • Experience managing aged fails, trade exceptions, and cash or custody breaks in a high-volume environment, • Strong understanding of settlement risk, funding impacts, and securities processing controls, • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with strong attention to detail and ownership mentality, • Strong communication and relationship management skills with the ability to interact confidently with traders, custodians, counterparties, and internal operations teams, • Experience with Shadow Financial, Neolink, BMO OLBB, and ALERT preferred, • Series 99 and/or SIE preferred or willingness to obtain within the first six months of employment, • Ability to leverage AI tools and automation to improve operational workflows while maintaining strong controls and compliance standards
