Job DescriptionJob Title: Facilities Maintenance TechnicianJob Description We are seeking a dedicated Facilities Maintenance Technician to oversee the overall maintenance of a bustling shopping center portfolio. This role ensures that all facilities are maintained in accordance with applicable standards, policies, and regulatory guidelines to promote a safe working environment. Responsibilities • Inspect property daily and identify potential hazards, damage, repairs, and improvement opportunities., • Provide coverage to the properties during some weekends and holidays., • Perform basic repairs to plumbing, lighting, door hardware, cement, flooring, woodwork, painting, furniture, and heaters in a timely and efficient manner., • Collaborate with other staff on larger projects requiring teamwork., • Order supplies and maintain an inventory of replacement parts., • Manage inventory control for the property., • Contact and oversee outside vendor repairs when needed., • Generate and perform preventative maintenance programs as instructed by management., • Maintain internal and external lighting fixtures, including replacement of ballasts, light bulbs, and fluorescent tubes., • Provide ongoing preventative maintenance to golf carts and RMUs., • Troubleshoot operating systems., • Assist the marketing department with the execution of center events, including event oversight and holiday preparations., • Respond to daily requests for assistance from management, tenants, and contractors., • Obtain proposals for purchase orders, service contracts, or time and materials contracts., • Generate contracts within the proprietary platform., • Participate and assist with certificate of insurance management and compliance database programs for vendors., • Request and organize bids from vendors., • Document daily progress reports and maintenance logs., • Be on call for after-hours emergencies., • Perform other duties as assigned.Essential Skills, • High School Diploma or GED., • Minimum of three years of facilities maintenance experience, preferably in a shopping center environment., • Experience in basic carpentry, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing functions., • Ability to work independently and as part of a team., • Ability to read, interpret documents, and comprehend instructions., • Effective communication skills to present information to management and tenants., • Problem-solving skills to define problems, collect information, and establish facts., • Basic computer skills., • Valid Driver's License in the state of California., • Good driving record.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience in facilities maintenance in a commercial setting.
