Job Description Programming Coordinator Park Avenue Armory's Mission: Part American palace, part industrial shed, Park Avenue Armory is dedicated to supporting unconventional works in the visual and performing arts that need non-traditional spaces for their full realization, enabling artists to create and audiences to experience epic and adventurous presentations that cannot be mounted elsewhere in New York City. Job Description: The Programming Coordinator serves as a key executive and administrative partner to the Artistic Director and Senior Vice President and Chief Artistic Producer, providing high-level organizational support that enables artistic leadership to operate with maximum effectiveness. This role demands exceptional executive organizational skills, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to manage competing priorities with discretion and professionalism. The Programming Coordinator works closely across all departments to ensure seamless communication, administrative excellence, and timely completion of critical tasks. Support for Artistic Leadership: • Maintain and monitor mail, contacts, and Artistic Director’s calendar, including scheduling, coordinating, and working with the Senior Vice President and Chief Artistic Producer to prioritize meetings., • Manage schedule for Senior Vice President and Chief Artistic Producer., • Coordinate and manage all travel logistics – both international and local., • Coordinate and manage all scheduling activities that pertain to Armory productions., • Provide updated travel and itineraries of Artistic Director to all parties., • Coordinate and manage New York housing and hotel logistics., • Maintain correspondence on behalf of the Artistic Director and Chief Artistic Producer., • Serve as a dedicated executive assistant to the Artistic Director during New York residencies, anticipating needs, managing day-of logistics, and ensuring all engagements run smoothly and on time. Support Programming Department: • Work with the Artistic Director and Chief Artistic Producer to maintain the department schedule including but not limited to the schedule of both Department Heads, travel booking and other assistance where required., • Process incoming programming-related invoices and communicate with finance to ensure timely payment., • Track and submit all credit card payments., • Prepare monthly expense reports and check requests., • Prepare and organize briefing materials, agendas, and presentations for executive meetings; record and distribute accurate meeting minutes and action items to ensure follow-through on key decisions., • Coordinate space usage between departments and attend weekly look-ahead meetings to resolve conflicts between programming events and other building activity., • Issue and track all dept. purchase orders., • Reconcile monthly department expenses for programming and artistic director’s office., • Maintain agreements with music licensing companies, ensuring ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC licenses and payments are up to date., • Act as the administrative “gatekeeper” of the Programming office to ensure and maintain the accuracy of key files. Organize the office including filing, archiving, and maintaining records, including creation of post-production informational binders., • Coordinate with in-house facilities, IT, and maintenance crew to prepare building spaces (meeting rooms, rehearsal rooms, dressing rooms, etc.) and ensure each program’s needs are met and on schedule. Support for Programming: • Provide production support to Recitals, Artist Studios, and Artist-in-Residence showings/events, occasionally in a stage management capacity as needed., • Book and manage all travel, transfers and accommodations for head house programming, • Create and send detailed Artist Welcome Pack, • Oversee logistical needs of the Armory’s Artist in Residence program, including scheduling bi-annual move-outs during major art show(s), and coordinating storage for Artists’ items during that time., • Create and distribute building IDs, signage, and security lists for all programming events., • Support on special projects as required. Minimum Requirements: A bachelor’s degree and a comprehensive understanding of a performing arts production environment are required. Ideal candidates are highly organized, detail-oriented, and driven by a desire to create order in complex, fast-moving environments. Candidates must be proactive self-starters who thrive under pressure, manage multiple competing priorities with calm efficiency, and consistently meet demanding deadlines. A minimum of two years of experience in Executive Assistance, Administrative Assistance, or artist services is required, with demonstrated ability to support senior leadership at an executive level. Candidates must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written), exceptional administrative and organizational judgment, discretion in handling confidential information, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, calendar and project management tools, budget tracking, and emerging AI platforms. Compensation: Salary range is $58,000 to $62,000 annually, commensurate with experience. This is an exempt position. Job Description Harlem Children’s Zone (HCZ) a world-renowned education and poverty-fighting organization based in New York — seeks an enthusiastic, dedicated, and mission-aligned Activity Specialist at Harlem Children’s Zone. The Activity Specialist will bring a passion for the mission of Harlem Children’s Zone: break the cycle of intergenerational poverty with comprehensive, on-the-ground programming that builds up opportunities for children and families to thrive in school, work, and life. We are looking for enthusiastic part-time Activity Specialists across various disciplines to guide our students in after-school activities. After school is the time to develop any special interests! As an Activity Specialist, you will facilitate weekly lesson plans, activities, and creative projects related to your specialty. Requirements Minimum Qualifications • High School Diploma or GED (degree preferred), • 1+ years of teaching experience Feel free to apply if you specialize in: • Cosmetology, • Vocal, • Culinary, • Fashion, • Music, • Multi-Sports, • Gaming/Coding/ STEM, • Dance (All Styles), • Theater/Acting, • Videography, • Photography, • Fashion, • DIY, • Marketing/Content Creations, • Fine Arts, • STEM, • Events/Civic Engagement Who you are • A commitment to Youth Development and the mission and programs of HCZ, • The ability to create lesson plans related to the class subject matter and implement project based learning in the curriculum, • Conservatory training and/or university-level education and practical experience in the content area is preferred (college students currently pursuing degree-level work are also encouraged to apply), • Must have at least one year of teaching experience, • Passion and experience with arts education involving youth, along with Flexibility, creativity, and enthusiasm for young people, • Excellent planning, organization, communication, and time management skills, • Ability to provide consistent and positive instruction as well as receive constructive criticism, • Experience working in youth development and teaching well-developed enrichment courses, social consciousness, self-identity, and efficacy, • Energetic, motivated self-starter and a team player, • Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively on projects with staff and students and full curriculum What you’ll do • Prepare and develop age, and skill-appropriate curriculum, lesson plans, activities, and special projects that fuse the arts and academic competencies to be reviewed by supervisors before being taught, • Plan and facilitate a project-based unit, and attend weekly meetings, • Work with program participants to develop their artistic, educational, and leadership potential, • Engage youth in the following areas through the arts: critical thinking; evaluation; risk-taking; rehearsals; hands-on project-based learning; documentation of work; community-building, and activism, • Coordinate subject-related trips, guest speakers, special events, student exhibitions, and college trips, • Share knowledge of the history and current state of African, African-American, and Latino issues and be able to interpret that into diverse learning opportunities, • Ability to communicate the progress of students and share insights discovered with team members on a regular basis, • Act as a role model for all students, • Perform other duties as assigned by management Schedule • Promise Academy After School: On Site, Monday-Friday any time from 2 pm-7:30 pm., • Peacemaker Program: On-Site: Monday-Friday 2 PM-6 PM, • A Cut Above: Monday-Thursday, 3 pm- 7 pm & Friday's 12 pm-6 pm, • ACE, ETC, CCCC (Zone High School, After school) Monday-Thursday 3 pm-8 pm & Friday's 2 pm-6 pm, • Summer Hours: Monday–Friday, on-site five days a week (40 hours total). Work hours may fall anywhere between 7:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., depending on the site you’re hired with. Job DescriptionDescription: We are seeking a part-time coach to lead fun and instructional sports classes that prioritize inclusion, sportsmanship, and love of the game. The scheduled hours are from 2:30pm to 5:00PM, when NYC public schools are in session. Instructors are the educators (Teachers, Coaches, Teaching Artists, etc.), who give instruction and leadership in specialized activities in after-school programs. These “club” activities can be artistic, athletic, academic, or recreational in nature. Activity Specialists are school teachers, experts in specific fields of study/endeavor, or individuals with comparable qualifications. Duties and Responsibilities • Implements course curriculum, and assists with its development, • Works with teaching assistant to create lesson plans in accordance with course curriculum, • Requests supplies from Site Supervisor well in advance of class sessions, • Leads classes with school-age children, • Supervises children during transitions, • Supervises teaching assistants, • Communicates regularly with Site Supervisor and/or Director about student progress, • Plans, coordinates, and oversees culminating events at the end of each cycleRequirements:, • Subject-matter expertise in a field consistent with the subject taught, • Patient, kind and friendly, • Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage and correct conduct and performance of adults and children, • Able to manage and give priority to multiple tasks.
