Position Summary Calvary Day School is seeking a Dance Instructor for our Fine Arts Academy to prepare students for success through training in technique, performance, and artistic expression, while also encouraging spiritual growth and leadership. The instructor will teach group dance classes after school for students in early learning through lower and middle school. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Lead students in the development of dance technique, performance skills, and artistic creativity within a Christ-centered environment. Demonstrate the character qualities of enthusiasm, courtesy, flexibility, integrity, gratitude, kindness, self-control, perseverance, and punctuality. Maintain a personal appearance that is a Christian role model of cleanliness, modesty, good taste, and agreement with school policy. Use professional and effective English in both written and oral communication. Refuse to use or circulate confidential information inappropriately. Introduce students to multiple styles of dance (ballet, tap, jazz, modern, or Irish/folk depending on instructor expertise) with age-appropriate instruction. Choreograph dances for group classes to perform in Fine Arts Academy concerts and showcases. Assist with all dance concert rehearsals and performances, ensuring students are well-prepared for the stage. Collaborate with Fine Arts Academy leadership to coordinate scheduling, performances, and other program activities. Communicate with both artists and parents regarding appropriate expectations for each level of performance. Maintain classroom and rehearsal environments that are safe, orderly, and supportive of student growth. Qualifications Experience in coaching and teaching youth dance instruction in a studio, school or community setting. Proficiency in one or more dance styles with the ability to design age-appropriate curriculum. Willingness to be part of a collaborative environment and work closely with colleagues and parents. Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with a professional and empathetic approach. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Capacity to meet the physical demands of the role. Positive attitude, flexible approach, and a sense of humor. Commitment to serving as a Christian role model for students.
