Job DescriptionRole and Responsibilities Reporting to the Principal, the PSOE Art Teacher will be responsible for developing in each student an interest in and the ability for creative expression in visual terms, using skills and techniques of artistic expression consistent with school guidelines; to develop aesthetic understandings and appreciations; to discover and develop talents of students in the field of art. • Knowledge and skills in art, including drawing, painting, lettering, and art history, • Instruct students in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school, • Provide instruction by which students develop aesthetic concepts and appreciations and the ability to make qualitative judgments about art, • Demonstrate techniques in activities such as drawing and painting, • Understand the versatility of acrylic paints: dry brushing, staining, layering, underpainting, monoprinting, • Understand a variety of “masters” techniques, • Knows and can apply elements of design and modern principles of art, • Knows the fundamentals and different approaches to drawing media technique, • Provide individual and small-group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students with varying intellectual and artistic abilities, and to accommodate a variety of instructional activities, • Instruct students in proper care and use of tools and equipment, • Organize storage areas and control use of materials, equipment and tools to prevent loss or abuse, and to minimize time required for distribution and collection, • Evaluate each student’s performance and growth in knowledge and aesthetic understandings, and prepare progress reports, • Select and requisition books, instructional materials, tools, instructional aids, and maintain required inventory records, • Plan and present art displays and exhibitions designed to exhibit students’ work for the school and the community, • May sponsor exhibits from outside the school Responsibilities, • Provides direct instruction in whole-class, small group, and individual settings., • Utilizes data-driven instruction and PSOE educational frameworks to ensure delivery of standard’s driven instruction to all students., • Completes assessments, grading, planning, and conferences with students, staff, and families within appropriate timelines., • Develops and maintains regular family communication and community partnerships., • Completes reports and follow-up documentation as required by administration., • Keeps updated and documented cumulative folders as ongoing case files for all current students., • Contributes to a strong school education team: serves on school and/or community committees; seeks participation and involvement with direction for ongoing local operations., • Abides by all PSOE frameworks as approved by the executive director and as noted in the staff handbook., • Maintains ongoing, consistent, and supportive communication for the classroom as noted in the school’s frameworks., • Assumes all roles as delegated for a variety of school functions for the purpose of managing the team workload more efficiently., • Utilizes effective systems as delegated to troubleshoot problems, track progress, and regularly evaluate workflow components, so as to measure progress in a way that can be effectively communicated to the team lead/elite teacher.Program planning and management, • Contributes to the organization's mission and reflects the priorities of the school., • Is prepared to assist in the planning, implementation, execution and evaluation of special projects.Human resources planning and management, • The Classroom Teacher will be thoroughly committed to the PSOE mission. We are the premiere firearms engraver in the United States and are seeking a talented and organized Lead Artist & Team Lead to manage our art staff while contributing directly to custom engraving projects. This role requires a balance of artistic expertise, technical proficiency, and leadership skills — someone who can produce high-quality work while guiding a small team and coordinating with both customers and production. Responsibilities * Communicate between customers, art staff (team of 3), and production staff. * Manage project deadlines, ensuring quality standards are met and artwork moves smoothly into production. * Oversee quality assurance for all artwork. * Train and mentor new art staff to maintain consistency, efficiency, and artistic excellence. * Coordinate workflow, assign tasks, and resolve issues quickly to keep projects on track.
