Job Description A premier New York-based defense firm, recognized by Best Lawyers and known for its excellence in personal injury and medical malpractice defense, is seeking a Medical Malpractice / Liability Defense Attorney to join its expanding team in their Long Island office. Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with 3–8 years of experience in medical malpractice and/or liability defense. The ideal candidate will have a strong litigation background, exceptional writing and analytical skills, and the ability to handle cases with a mix of independence and collaboration. Key Responsibilities: • Manage all aspects of medical malpractice and liability defense cases, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, and motion practice., • Handle court appearances and arguments with confidence and professionalism., • Communicate promptly and effectively with clients, experts, and co-counsel., • Draft and respond to discovery demands, pre-answer motions, and dispositive motions., • Conduct depositions and develop case strategies under partner guidance., • Collaborate with senior attorneys while maintaining the ability to work independently., • J.D. from an accredited law school., • Admission to practice in New York (required)., • 3–8 years of medical malpractice and/or general liability defense experience., • Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills., • Strong attention to detail, organization, and client service., • Ability to manage a substantial caseload efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
