FOOD & BEVERAGE MANAGER AT MARCO POLO RESTAURANT | SILVER LAKE POOL & INN POSITION DESCRIPTION: We're looking for a hospitable, guest experience-focused F&B Manager at Marco Polo restaurant at Silver Lake Pool & Inn. The ideal candidate will have a strong aptitude for managing daily operations, training and retaining staff, managing inventory and ordering, optimizing profits, and ensuring every guest has a delightful visit. ABOUT MARCO POLO: Silver Lake Pool & inn sits just south of the Sunset Junction in the heart of the Silver Lake, one of the most dynamic and captivating neighborhoods in Los Angeles. The hotel features 54 generously appointed guest rooms and suites, and elevated pool deck that beckons relaxation, and our lively outdoor restaurant and bar, Marco Polo! THE TASK AT HAND • Oversees the function of all food and beverage in the hotels to ensure excellent customer service and maximize revenue and profits to support overall hotel operations., • Consistently offers professional, friendly, and engaging service., • Ensures service standards are followed while actively supporting the entire restaurant/bar/kitchen team., • Handles guest concerns and reacts quickly and professionally., • Balances operational, administrative and colleague needs., • Maximizes revenues by communicating regularly with the Food and Beverage teams to implement agreed upon strategies, practices, and promotions., • Manages the departmental budget., • Staffs and oversees execution of on-site events., • Develops and implements cost-saving and profit-enhancing measures., • Reviews, prepares, and updates forecasts as needed., • Communicates with all departments to ensure that customer service needs, and expectations are fulfilled., • Works with the corporate F&B leadership to develop and implement menus and makes recommendation on menu items., • Manages the interviewing, selecting, training, counseling, disciplining, and scheduling of all food & beverage team members., • Works directly with staff to assure food and beverage quality, good service, and cleanliness are strictly adhered to., • Ability to execute both opening and closing duties and maintain an efficient, effective, and prioritized work schedule., • Maintain inventory and its protocols and systems., • Participates as an active member of the hotel Safety committee and ensures all safety protocols are adhered to consistently., • Ensures all spaces are clean, well-maintained and styled according to property-specific standards., • Participates in daily and weekly inspections of all spaces and oversees and manages an follow-up that comes out of the inspections. Specific Administrative Functions: • Scheduling of all F&B FOH and BOH staff (AM + PM)., • Send Weekly Email Reports to management and attend weekly management meetings., • Send Weekly Email blasts to all staff outlining any news or memos., • Host regular department meeting for F&B staff and work with the hotel General Manager on content., • Review, respond and distribute F&B-related emails daily, including end of shift reports., • Manage online reservations system and communicate reservations (phone & email)., • Manages monthly inventories of food and beverage., • Handle F&B ordering for food, beverage and operating supplies., • Manage comps and discount, Manage service staff tips and all documents surrounding tip-reporting, ADP Time clock, POS., • Manages and submits photos and content curation for social media., • Other duties as assigned. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: • Familiarity with MS Office, Google Apps, and other organizational computer tools., • Flexible and adaptable to change., • Requires a flexible schedule for weekdays and weekends and a variety of shifts., • Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal preferred., • Provide legible communication and directions., • Compute basic arithmetic., • Perform job junctions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy., • Prioritize, organize, and follow up., • Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment., • Follow directions thoroughly., • Work with minimal supervision., • Ability to carry up to 40lbs., • Ability to walk, stand, and bend continuously.
