Job Description Position Summary The Fee Accountant will provide full-time onsite accounting services to ensure compliance with HUD, State of Florida, and local regulations. This role is critical for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and supporting audit readiness for OHA’s diverse housing programs. Key Responsibilities • Monthly & Year-End Closing, • Perform monthly and fiscal year-end close for all housing programs., • Prepare trial balances, adjusting entries, and reconciliations., • Journal Entries & Transaction Review, • Post journal entries for 30+ entities and multiple HUD programs., • Review all financial transactions for accuracy and compliance., • Financial Reporting, • Prepare monthly financial statements and Board reports (including variance analysis and narratives)., • Submit monthly HUD reports (Voucher Management System, HCV utilization)., • Audit Preparation, • Prepare all schedules and workpapers for annual audit., • Submit unaudited and audited Financial Data Schedule (FDS) data., • Budgeting & Forecasting, • Prepare operating budgets for 20 programs and annual subsidy calculations., • Support forecasting and scenario analysis., • Compliance & HUD Liaison, • Maintain knowledge of HUD regulations and MTW program requirements., • Serve as point of contact for HUD reviews and audits., • System Use, • Utilize Elite 2.5.12 (hosted) and Excel for accounting functions., • Ensure accurate data entry and reporting through HUD portals (PIC, VMS, FDS). Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)., • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience; public housing/HUD experience required., • Strong knowledge of GAAP, HUD regulations, and MTW program., • Proficiency in Elite software and advanced Excel skills., • Ability to manage high-volume transactions across multiple entities., • Excellent organizational and communication skills. Work Environment • Full-time onsite at OHA headquarters., • Dedicated workspace and system access provided., • Monthly status meetings with CFO; collaboration with 7-member finance team. Performance Expectations • Complete monthly close by the 21st of each month., • Deliver audit-ready workpapers by May 31 (for March 31 fiscal year-end)., • Ensure timely and accurate HUD reporting and compliance.
