Position Summary: T1 Energy is seeking an experienced and results-driven Quality Manager to oversee and maintain the company’s quality assurance and control programs at our Wilmer, TX facility. This role will ensure that all products and processes meet regulatory, customer, and internal standards, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence. The Quality Manager will report directly to the VP of Manufacturing Operations. Key Responsibilities: • Develop, implement, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001 and solar industry standards, • Develop, implement, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001 and solar industry standards., • Ensure full compliance with PV module certifications such as UL, IEC, and other applicable regulatory and customer-specific requirements., • Establish robust quality control plans for critical processes including cell stringing, layup, lamination, framing, junction box installation, and final testing., • Strengthen process standardization, documentation control, and traceability systems across production lines., • Lead in-process quality assurance and final product validation to ensure module performance, reliability, and durability standards are consistently achieved., • Monitor and improve key quality KPIs such as First Pass Yield (FPY), defect rate, scrap rate, rework rate, and field return performance., • Drive root cause analysis using structured methodologies (8D, DMAIC, Fishbone, etc.) and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)., • Partner with Engineering and Manufacturing to reduce process variation and improve overall line stability and efficiency., • Oversee incoming quality control for critical components such as solar cells, glass, EVA, backsheet, frames, and junction boxes., • Collaborate with Supply Chain to qualify and monitor supplier performance through audits, scorecards, and corrective action programs., • Ensure material compliance with performance and durability specifications required for long-term field reliability., • Lead internal audits and coordinate external audits including customer, certification bodies, and regulatory inspections., • Act as primary quality liaison for customer claims, warranty analysis, and technical investigations., • Ensure readiness for product certification renewals and surveillance audits., • Build and develop a high-performance quality team, including quality engineers, inspectors, and technicians., • Promote a proactive quality culture focused on defect prevention rather than detection., • Train cross-functional teams on quality standards, process discipline, and problem-solving methodologies., • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability and reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ). Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred., • 5+ years of experience in quality management, preferably within manufacturing or energy sectors., • Strong knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001, Six Sigma, or similar frameworks., • Proven experience leading audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives., • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills., • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence at all levels of the organization.
