VETERANS ENCOURAGED TO APPLY!! Position Summary We seek a hands-on, results-driven Sales Manager / COO who will train and travel with the President to generate new sales and visit key customers. The role is hybrid and location-bound to within 50 miles of our headquarters in High Point, NC. After 12–18 months, the objective is to lead our sales function and eventually assume the role of President. Throughout all phases, the candidate will actively participate in field service and account maintenance. The ideal candidate drives revenue growth in the water treatment sector, personally participates in service visits when needed, and combines technical service skills with sales leadership and customer relationship excellence in a B2B environment serving industries such as industrial manufacturing, HVAC, power generation, food & beverage, healthcare, education, data centers, and commercial facilities. Key Responsibilities • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of technicians/account managers; set targets, coach performance, and ensure attainment of annual sales quotas., • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to grow market share in assigned territories/regions, focusing on:, • Steam boiler treatment, • Cooling tower and chiller water management, • Closed-loop corrosion control, • Air wash system solutions, • Actively service existing and new accounts by driving a company service vehicle to customer sites for routine visits, including:, • Water sampling and analysis, • Chemical feed system adjustments and dosage optimization, • Equipment inspections/calibrations and minor repairs, • Inventory management of treatment chemicals, • Implementation of preventive maintenance programs, • Identify, prospect, and win new customers through cold outreach, networking, industry events, referrals, targeted campaigns, and on-site assessments., • Conduct facility surveys, system audits, and technical presentations to diagnose issues (e.g., scaling, corrosion, biological growth), recommend solutions, and close service contracts or chemical programs. Attend boiler inspections on site as needed., • Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers (plant managers, maintenance directors, engineers, procurement) through regular onsite presence and measurable results (e.g., energy savings, reduced downtime)., • Prepare proposals, quotations, and contracts; negotiate terms; close deals while ensuring profitability and high customer satisfaction., • Collaborate with operations, chemistry specialists, and service teams to resolve issues, implement programs, and identify upsell opportunities during service visits., • Track sales pipeline, service activity, and key metrics (new wins, retention, revenue growth, program performance) using CRM tools., • Stay current on regulations (EPA, OSHA, water quality standards), industry trends, and technologies in water treatment for industrial/HVAC systems., • Represent the company at trade shows, seminars, and associations related to boilers, cooling systems, and facility management. Qualifications and Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Chemistry, Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental), or related field; relevant certifications (e.g., water treatment specialist, boiler operator) a plus., • 5+ years of B2B experience in industrial/commercial water treatment, with proven sales success and hands-on field service (chemical applications, testing, equipment servicing for boilers, cooling towers, chillers, or similar)., • 2+ years in a sales leadership role preferred; strong individual contributor experience with service expertise considered., • Willingness and ability to drive a service van daily/weekly for field visits; physically capable of loading/unloading chemicals, test kits, and equipment; ability to climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in industrial environments., • Strong technical knowledge of water chemistry, scaling, corrosion, biological control, legionella risk management, energy efficiency, and system performance in steam boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and air wash systems., • Demonstrated track record of meeting/exceeding sales targets and growing service-based accounts., • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, troubleshooting, and relationship-building skills., • Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce), Microsoft Office, water testing equipment, and virtual collaboration tools., • Willingness to travel 50–70% within the assigned region (regular on-site visits, occasional overnight stays, and some emergency calls)., • Existing contacts in target industries and familiarity with selling/servicing service contracts and preventive maintenance programs., • Experience handling water treatment chemicals (biocides, inhibitors, dispersants) and related equipment (controllers, pumps, feeders, filtration)., • Knowledge of sustainability, water conservation, and ROI-focused solutions in HVAC/industrial systems., • CDL with HAZMAT rating (preferred for delivering materials)., • Competitive base salary: $85,000 + performance-based commission/bonus with uncapped earning potential., • Comprehensive benefits (available health, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, paid time off)., • Company service vehicle, fuel card, expense reimbursement, cell phone, laptop, and necessary tools/equipment., • Opportunities for growth in a dynamic, hands-on industry role., • Location: High Point, NC (within 50 miles of headquarters), • Work arrangement: Hybrid (combination of field/service and leadership/strategy)
