American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in High Point, North Carolina. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 05/25/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs, • Hours: 36 hrs/wk, • Start Date: May 25, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • Work in a 36-bed Ortho-Urology Med/Surg Tele unit with an average daily census of 33 patients, • Patient population includes general med/surg, post-operative orthopedic, bariatric, hip, trauma surgical, and urology (CBI) patients, mirroring the 7 South unit, • RN-to-patient ratio is 1:6, • 12-hour night shifts, 1900–0730, 36 hours per week, • Weekend rotation every other weekend, • No on-call requirements, • Floating required to sister units 7 North and 7 South, which are all med/surg with the same ratios and expectations, • EMR: Epic (experience required); also uses Encompass, • IV pumps: Baxter (transitioning to Alaris in 2026); medication dispensing via Omnicell; Philips MX-40 monitors, • Unit support includes CNA coverage, charge nurse, phlebotomy, telemetry monitoring tech, respiratory therapy (24/7), hospitalist (24/7), and intensivist (24/7), • HUC/receptionist available 0700–1930 only; no HUC coverage on night shiftRequirements, • Active NC or compact RN license currently in hand, • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required, • Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg or Ortho-Urology RN experience required, with most recent experience within the last year, • Proficiency in general medical/surgical patient care, including CBI management, • Epic EMR experience required, • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position, • Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration, • Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the past year, from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RNAdditional Information, • Teaching hospital with a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center designation; no trauma designation; 351 licensed beds, • Care responsibilities include post-operative orthopedic and urology patients, CBI monitoring, bariatric patients, and patients in traction, • Travelers are expected to work 75% of assigned holidays, • Royal blue scrubs required, • Free parking is available on site, • Facility orientation (NEO) provided, plus 2 days of unit-specific departmental orientation, • Candidates who have previously worked a permanent position at an AHSE facility must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
