Job Summary: The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) leads the financial operations and strategy of a complex, multi-entity, multi-business unit transportation organization across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Reporting directly to the President, and a member of the executive team, this role oversees the organization’s financial functions, asset management, and management information systems. The CFO is responsible for maintaining strong fiscal health and driving growth in a dynamic transportation environment. Duties/Responsibilities: • Strategic Financial Planning & Leadership:Partner with the President and collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement long-term strategic plans, goals, business models, and growth initiatives., • Financial Operations Management:Lead financial functions, including accounts payable, treasury, and general ledger maintenance to ensure accuracy and timeliness., • Budgeting & Forecasting:Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and procurement strategies., • Asset & Capital Management:Oversee asset management, including financing, leasing, and depreciation. Manage capital expenditures and operating costs, optimizing the company's capital structure and margins., • Financial Reporting & Analysis:Prepare accurate monthly and annual financial statements and ensure timely reporting of key financial data to the President and Board of Directors., • Risk Management & Compliance:Ensure compliance with IFTA and other state and federal tax requirements, GAAP, and other applicable financial regulations., • Management Information Systems Oversight: Oversee data systems, management and reporting, integrity, system optimization, and security., • Partner Relations:Manage and maintain positive relationships with financial partners and internal stakeholders to support growth., • Demonstrated expertise in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, with P&L management and financial statements oversight., • Proven experience leading cost reduction and cost containment initiatives., • Proven experience implementing technology to automate processes., • Exceptional cost accounting and cash flow analysis capabilities., • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access) and financial modeling and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle)., • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and strategic thinking skills., • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex data to the Board of Directors and other stakeholders., • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. CPA and/or MBA preferred., • 10+ years of progressive financial experience, including senior-level leadership responsibility., • Experience working in a publicly traded company environment preferred., • Multi-entity and/or multi-location operational accounting experience preferred., • Lead a team of five direct reports and 40+ indirect team members., • Develop and maintain effective departments through selection, training, performance management, compensation planning, and talent development. This is a full-time position, and days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Travel: 10% Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office and computer equipment.
