Data Modeling for Reporting • Collaborate with Data Engineers on semantic-ready, dimensional models (star/snowflake) that support reusable metrics and performant SPICE., • Specify data contracts, acceptance criteria, and validation rules for each dataset consumed by QuickSight., • Perform QA on datasets and visuals; reconcile metrics against source-of-truth reports. Performance, Cost & Reliability • Tune dataset QuickSight and CloudWatch metrics., • Optimize SPICE capacity, usage tiers, and schedules for cost-effectiveness; recommend right-sizing., • Establish error handling and runbooks for dataset failures and broken visuals. Security, Compliance & Auditability • Enforce HIPAA-aligned practices for PHI/PII in dashboards and exports; coordinate with security on IAM, Lake Formation access (consumer side), and audit trails., • Support agency interoperability and program contexts by ensuring definitions align to each domain's processes. Enablement & Documentation • Produce authoring guides, style kits, and QuickSight templates to enable selfservice for analysts and power users. Specialized experience:The candidate should have experience as a BI developer or similar role with a strong understanding of data modeling and ETL processes.
