Mopec is currently searching for Welders with at least 10 years of experience. This is an “onsite” position and will be based at our corporate office in Madison Heights MI. This position will work Monday thru Thursday from 6:00 am until 4:30 pm or from 4:30 p.m. until 3:00 a.m. Pay will be based on experience but will run between $27 and $32 per hour. Job Summary: The welder will work as part of the operations team. In this position, the welder will weld parts to meet customer expectations on time to meet customer requirements. This position will weld product parts according to specifications on different types of metal including stainless steel, milled steel, and aluminum. This position requires the ability to read instructions and follow these instructions. This position exists in a temperature-controlled environment. Essential/Key Functions • Weld parts according to customer specifications on different types of metal including stainless steel, milled steel and aluminum, • Perform different types of welds including, but not limited to, inside corner weld, outside corner weld, butt weld, fillet weld, and spot weld; must have working knowledge of TIG and MIG welding on stainless steel, • Work a priority list as set by production schedule, • Plan, measure and cut a variety of different materials, • Perform general maintenance on machinery inside the welding department, • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment, • Performs in a manner that will prevent errors and omissions., • Responsible for meeting team targets and key performance indicators, • Read and comprehend instructions and follow established procedures, • Wear the proper safety equipment and follow all safety guidelines and operate in a safe manner, • Physical presence on the job is essential including weekends and holidays if deemed necessary Education and Experience • High school diploma or GED, • Fabricating experience a plus, • Must have mechanical aptitude, • Must know how to TIG and MIG weld, • Knowledge of Visual ERP system a plus, • Knowledge of Microsoft Office a plus, • Ability to read mechanical blueprint a plus, • Must manage time well, • Must support mission and purpose of the company and be committed to professional and personal growth, • Must take initiative, • Must be results driven Disclaimer: This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
