Job DescriptionJob Title: Electrical TechnicianJob Description Join our Elevator Support Unit (ESU) to support contracted skilled trades work on Weapon Elevators and Aircraft Elevators and their systems on U.S. Navy ships. The position involves performing a variety of skilled trades, maintenance, and technical tasks on aircraft carrier elevators, cargo handling systems, and associated equipment, including aircraft elevators, weapons elevators, and vertical stores conveyors. Travel within and outside of the continental United States may be required. This position is located in San Diego, CA. Responsibilities • Provide electrical support for repairs, modification, installation, logistics support, material condition assessments, and completion of quality assurance documentation., • Conduct System Operational Tests on systems including but not limited to Weapons Elevators, Stores Elevators, Aircraft Elevators, and associated equipment/systems., • Support overhaul, modification, installation, repair, and testing on assigned alterations, including Fire Watching., • Install, operate, maintain, repair, and modify equipment., • Perform maintenance and technical support on shipboard systems, integrated systems, and related equipment/software at various locations., • Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions to eliminate problems quickly., • Interface with customers, manage subcontractors, and provide work direction to others., • Develop and use technical documents, including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents, and reports., • Schedule, report, and brief customers and senior management., • Perform duties outside of specialty to complete installations or work assignments.Essential Skills, • Electrical troubleshooting, repair, and blueprint reading skills., • Must be able to obtain a DBIDS for North Island and be a U.S. Citizen., • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and related forms., • Experience related to maintenance and repair of shipboard aircraft and/or ordinance and handling equipment., • Familiarity with the US Navy 3-M (material, maintenance, and management) System., • Experience in electrical troubleshooting, installation, wiring controllers, and disassembly/reassembly of MCTs., • Experience installing Cat 5, Coax, and power cables., • High School education, Trade School, or equivalent, and 2 years of related experience.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Preferred experience with PLC., • Proof of Copper and Multi-Pin certifications IAW NSI 009-73 is preferred., • Personnel shall review and comply with the requirements of W-11-OPS-0005 (Cable Installation) and W-11-OPS-0006 (Cable Removal) upon hiring.
