Job DescriptionSalary: 82,500-95,000 DOE Sargon is a family-owned company specializing in masonry, stone and steel construction. Sargon Masonry Construction is a full-service land development and commercial masonry contractor specializing in perimeter fencing, retaining walls, masonry structures, entry monuments, footings and many other various design-build retaining wall systems. The Superintendent role will manage the daily on-site production of multiple projects in the Phoenix, Arizona market for our Land Development division. This position will manage and coordinate daily site activities for masonry construction from pre-planning through project close-out. This position reports directly to the Project Manager and works closely with the General Superintendents and Assistant Project Managers. Key Accountabilities: • Communication - All communication at all levels in all interactions are professional, timely and clear., • Manage - Manage, prioritize, document and schedule all aspects of the job including employees, equipment, materials and sub-contractors from project handoff to finish communicating progress., • Safety & Risk - Implement Safety & Risk Management (Injury & Illness Prevention Program) to mitigate job site hazards., • Build - To build per plan with Sargon quality standards., • Close Out - Critical close out of job sites to ensure Sargon quality standards and timely billing of retention and the entire scope of work is complete. Primary Scope Responsible For: • Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of employees and sub-contractors., • Read specifications, such as blueprints, to determine construction requirements or to plan procedures., • Inspect work progress, equipment, or construction sites to verify safety or to ensure that specifications are met., • Locate, measure, and mark site locations and placement of structures and equipment, using measuring and marking equipment., • Coordinate work activities with other construction project activities and subcontractors on the jobsite., • Assign work to employees, based on material or worker requirements of specific jobs., • Proactively meet with project managers, other departments, and subcontractors to regarding all aspects of job, • Communicate daily with the Assistant Project Managers to ensure timely delivery of materials and supplies., • Analyze worker and production problems and recommend solutions, such as improving production methods or implementing motivational plans as well as expectations., • Accurate and timely documentation of any issues related to a member of your team, • Train workers in construction methods, operation of equipment, safety procedures, and Sargon company culture & policies., • Maintain and update 3-week look-ahead schedules and project projections to plan upcoming tasks, allocate resources, and anticipate potential challenges. Submit updates weekly to the Project Manager., • Collaborate with the Project Manager to review and track the project budget, ensuring weekly monitoring of material, labor, and equipment costs to support effective planning and decision-making., • Coordinate with other trades on the jobsite to maintain efficient workflow and production, conducting weekly coordination meetings with all trades whose work may impact access or progress., • Record information such as personnel, production, or operational data on specified forms or reports, including Safety Meetings, Block Counts, and Equipment Maintenance Checklists., • Provide assistance to workers using hand tools or other equipment., • Arrange for repairs of equipment or machinery., • Suggest or initiate personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, termination, or hires., • Communicate with clients Project Manager daily to establish and ensure goals are being met., • Ensure the overall quality and completeness of projects, • Accurate and timely reporting of expenses to the accounting department on a weekly basis. Sargon Masonry Construction offers competitive compensation based on experience and skill level. This is a full-time role between $82,500 and $95,000 annual compensation, depending on candidates qualifications.
