Job DescriptionAbout the Opportunity A well-established transportation company with operations across the United States and Mexico is seeking an experienced and dynamic Bilingual Director of Training to lead the organization's learning and development strategy. JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: • The Director of Training is responsible for the strategic leadership, design, governance, and continuous improvement of all company training programs across operations, safety, customer service, maintenance, dispatch, leadership, and regulatory compliance. This role oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance of all training materials, curriculum, learning systems, and competency standards to ensure employees are properly trained, operationally effective, and compliant with all applicable regulatory requirement., • The Director will also serve as the company’s lead liaison for training-related interactions with government and regulatory entities, ensuring training programs align with standards established by agencies such as the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), TSA, state transportation authorities, and other applicable regulators. FMCSA publishes its safety regulations and training-related compliance requirements through the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations., • Designs, develops, implements, and evaluates training programs to ensure management and employees acquire the skills and develop competencies required within the organization to meet its objectives, • Control of all training material, SOPs, training manuals, safety training curriculum, SA security awareness programs, etc., • Ensure all training programs meet or exceed applicable regulatory standards., • Serves as primary point of contact during audits, inspections, reviews, lawsuits, and inquiries related to training compliance., • Coordinate documentation and evidence of training completion for regulatory reviews., • Train drivers on FMCSA and all other local, state, and federal laws that pertain to the industry. For example Pre/Post trip on unit, HOS, defensive driving, out of service, ADA, PPE, etc., • Responsible to train drivers on small over the road repairs such as replacing wipers, headlight bulbs, regen, etc., • Train and prepare drivers for the TX DMV tests including road test, • Supervises driver's performance of routine driving and safety performance., • Observes individual's driving habits and reactions under various driving conditions to ensure conformance with vehicle operations standards and state vehicle code., • Ensure coaching, corrective action and training effectiveness by utilizing telematic systems such as ELD platform, camera systems other operational technology., • Oversees LMS administration, training records, certification tracking and reporting., • Conduct training needs analyses following incidents, complaints, audits, or performance deficiencies., • Partners with Safety, Operations, Maintenance, Dispatch, HR, and Compliance to identify training gaps., • Implement corrective training initiatives to reduce possible operational risk., • Provides executive level reporting, trend analysis, corrective action planning, and continuous improvement initiatives, • Other duties as assigned by Manager EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: • 8-12 + years of progressive training leadership experience, • 5+ Years managing managers and training teams, • Strong knowledge of regulatory training requirements, • Experience with DOT/FMCSA compliance, • Experience utilizing telematics and driving-behavior technology to support targeted training initiatives and measurable KPI improvement., • Good communication skills English/Spanish EDUCATION: • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training beyond high school., • Two-year associate’s degree or equivalent experience. LICENSES and CERTIFICATIONS: • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) endorsement, • OSHA certification, • Smith System Driver Trainer Certification, • NATMI certified Driver Trainer Monday to Saturday
