Delivery Driver - No CDL Required

Boise
Job Description $18.00/hour. Start at 6am, go home when the route's done. Most days that's noon. Most driving work in the valley wants your whole day, or pays you by the stop and calls you a contractor. This is a straight hourly job on a fixed schedule. You start at 6am Monday through Friday and you're off when the route is finished. Most days that's around noon. Lighter days you're home sooner, and most weeks land between 25 and 30 hours. No weekends, no evenings, no on-call. We're Amembiana, a candy and snack retailer in Boise. We sell online through Amazon, Walmart, and our own store - everything from nostalgic classics to treats most people have never heard of. There are five of us. You'd be the sixth, which means what you do here is visible and it matters. Our warehouse is in the industrial area near Overland and Cole. Free parking on site. The route stays inside the Treasure Valley, so you're back where you started every day. THE ROLE You load the van at the warehouse, then run a route around the valley dropping packages at multiple locations for mailing. Load, drive, drop, come back. • Load outbound packages into the cargo van at the warehouse, • Drive a set route to several drop-off points across the Treasure Valley, • Hand off packages for mailing and bring back receipts and scans, • Keep the van clean and fueled, and flag anything mechanical the same morning you notice it The van is ours. You're not putting miles on your own vehicle and you're not paying for gas. Once the van is loaded, the morning is yours. Nobody is tracking you stop to stop. The route gets done right or it doesn't, and that's the whole measure of the job. The owner is reachable by phone the entire time if something goes sideways. Accuracy is the part that actually matters. A package that misses its drop is a customer's order sitting another full day. You'll ride the route with the owner for your first few days, learning the stops, the order they go in, and where to park at each one. After that, the mornings are yours. WHAT WE NEED • A valid driver's license and a clean record. Specifically: no DUI, no reckless driving, and no more than two moving violations in the last three years. We run a motor vehicle record check before an offer., • 25 or older. That floor comes from our commercial auto policy, not from us. We can't put an uninsurable driver in the van., • Comfortable behind the wheel of a full-size cargo van. No CDL required, and we're not asking for one., • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and handle repeated in-and-out of the van, • A reliable 6:00am start. The whole day's shipping is built on the route leaving on time, so consistent on-time starts are the core of this job. Nice to have: prior route, courier, or box truck experience, and knowing your way around Nampa, Caldwell, and Meridian without leaning on the GPS. Not required: warehouse experience. If you're dependable and you drive carefully, we'll teach you the rest. If you can do this work with a reasonable accommodation, we want your application. Message us through Indeed and we'll talk it through. BEING STRAIGHT WITH YOU We're a small company and we're not going to pretend otherwise. We don't offer health insurance or a 401(k). This is part-time, it usually lands between 25 and 30 hours, and we're not going to guarantee you a number we can't control. If you need 40 hours and benefits, a larger employer is the better move, and we'd rather you know that now than in a third interview. What we do offer: • $18.00/hour, paid biweekly, and the number is the number. No pay per stop, no contractor paperwork, no deductions for fuel or the van., • Five shifts a week, every week. The start time never moves and the route is yours., • No rotating shifts, no on-call, no mandatory weekends, • Company van, company fuel, free parking at the warehouse, • Your afternoons back, every single day, • A hiring process measured in days, not weeks One honest note on the schedule: we're a candy company, so October through December is our busy season. We sometimes ask for extra hours in that stretch. It's paid, we give as much notice as we can, and it's a handful of days rather than a season of them. HOW TO APPLY Hit apply and answer six quick questions. Takes about two minutes, and there's no cover letter needed. We read every application and respond within two business days. Amembiana is an equal opportunity employer. We consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other protected status under federal or Idaho law. If you need an accommodation to apply or interview, message us through Indeed and we'll work it out.
