Job DescriptionJob Title: Welder and Fabricator Job Description This contract-to-hire role offers the opportunity to work as a MIG welder and fabricator, independently producing steel frames and components for extended truck beds. You will use your welding, fabrication, and blueprint reading skills to complete high-quality work at a growing manufacturing facility with modern equipment and a clear path for career advancement. Responsibilities • Perform MIG welding on steel components to produce frames and parts for extended truck beds., • Read and interpret blueprints to determine specifications, dimensions, and welding requirements., • Fabricate steel parts according to drawings and work instructions, ensuring accuracy and quality., • Operate bandsaws and other fabrication machinery safely and efficiently to cut and prepare materials., • Set up and maintain welding and fabrication equipment at individual workstations., • Work independently to complete assigned projects within established timelines., • Inspect completed welds and fabricated components to verify quality and adherence to specifications., • Perform basic fitting tasks to ensure components align and assemble correctly., • Use basic math skills to measure, layout, and verify dimensions during fabrication., • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.Essential Skills, • Proven MIG welding experience on steel components., • Hands-on fabrication experience in a manufacturing or shop environment., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately., • Proficiency using bandsaws for cutting and preparing materials., • Basic fitting skills to ensure proper assembly of components., • Solid math skills for measuring, layout, and verification of dimensions., • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining quality standards.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience with TIG welding is beneficial., • Experience working with fabrication machinery such as press brakes is an advantage., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work., • Ability to follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment appropriately., • Willingness to work overtime, including some Saturdays, when needed.Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a manufacturing facility with multiple workstations dedicated to welding and fabrication. You will work around equipment such as press brakes, bandsaws, and welding stations where products are built from start to finish. The standard schedule is a day shift from 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with overtime available on some Saturdays. The environment is hands-on and production-focused, requiring adherence to safety practices and appropriate shop attire suitable for welding and fabrication work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boise, ID. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
