Job Description Position Overview: The Building Custodian shall perform all tasks related to the day-to-day duties in maintenance, repairs, and preservation of all buildings, grounds, and company offices. Reporting Responsibilities: This position reports to the Building Manager of the Maintenance Department. General Duties/Responsibilities: • Responsible for daily building equipment repairs, carpentry, painting, wallpapering, installing windows and doors, building modules and partitions, and all other building repairs and maintenance., • Responsible for clearing, preparing, and cleaning up work area., • Responsible for performing proper usage of tools and equipment in a safe manner., • Responsible for utilizing heavy machinery and motorized equipment such as Bob Cat, forklifts, ladders, garbage trucks, etc. Position Qualifications: • Required a minimum High School Diploma, GED or equivalent., • Must have and maintain an excellent NYS Driver’s License., • Must have a minimum of two years’ experience with custodial, building maintenance or general repair., • Must have experience with sludge, snow, and non-hazardous waste removal., • Must have experience with the proper operation of a variety of hand power tools. Physical and Sensory Requirements: • Must be able to maintain manual dexterity when grasping, pushing, pulling, walking, climbing, lifting, kneeling, crouching, climbing, balancing self or equipment without accommodations., • Must be able to perform job duties safely near moving mechanical parts., • Ability to work both inside, outdoor, in all weather and surrounding conditions., • Ability to work days, evenings, weekdays, weekends, holidays and overtime hours.
