Job Description Job Title: Laboratory Support Technician Location: Hyannis, MA 02601 Duration: 13 Weeks Contract Shift: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM Position Overview "Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Laboratory Support Technician to join a healthcare team on a contract basis. This role is essential in ensuring efficient laboratory operations, specimen processing, and coordination of laboratory information while supporting technical staff. Key Responsibilities • Provide professional coordination of laboratory information and specimen processing, • Deliver excellent customer service to patients, staff, and external stakeholders, • Perform data processing tasks including order entry, result entry, cancellations, and record retrieval, • Operate and troubleshoot laboratory computer systems and support backup processes, • Answer calls, relay messages, and provide accurate information regarding lab procedures and results, • Verify and process incoming specimens, ensuring proper labeling, handling, and distribution, • Prepare specimens for shipment to reference laboratories and ensure proper documentation, • Coordinate and file reference lab reports, • Maintain inventory, order supplies, and organize stock, • Assist with pre-analytical specimen processing (centrifuging, aliquoting, labeling, prioritization), • Support specimen collection, including blood draws as assigned, • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, hospital policies, and confidentiality standards, • Assist in quality assurance data collection and other departmental projectsQualifications, • Ability to read, write, and follow written instructions effectively, • Typing speed of at least 30 WPM, • Completion of Medical Terminology coursework or successful completion of a medical terminology assessment (minimum 80%), • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in roles such as:, • Laboratory Assistant, • Patient Care Technician (PCT), • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), • Phlebotomist, • Unit Clerk / Medical Secretary, • Diagnostic Technician or similar healthcare support roles, • Strong data entry and computer system skills, • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills For more details contact at About Navitas Healthcare, LLC certified WBENC and one of the fastest-growing healthcare staffing firms in the US providing Medical, Clinical and Non-Clinical services to numerous hospitals.
