The Role: Educator at THINK Global School Being an educator here means more than teaching; it means co-creating learning that connects deeply with place, people, and purpose. Our educators are mentors, facilitators, and designers of transformative experiences that bridge the academic and the human. Youll join a globally mobile faculty team that travels alongside students, bringing learning to life across diverse contexts, from sustainable design in Mumbai to ecological storytelling in Botswana or futures thinking in Japan. Educators at TGS are architects of learning experiences that connect knowledge to real life. What Youll Do In your role as an Educator at THINK Global School, you will take on primary areas of responsibility, each reflecting the holistic and interconnected nature of learning within the Think Potential model. These domains encompass both academic and personal development, ensuring that students are supported as whole learners, intellectually, emotionally, and globally. Advisory As an Educator, you will serve as a trusted mentor and guide for a small group of students, supporting their growth across academic, personal, and wellbeing dimensions. • Mentor and guide a small group of students (advisees) in their personal, academic, and emotional growth., • Support students in setting goals, developing individualized learning plans, and maintaining balance across learning and wellbeing., • Model and nurture emotional literacy, reflection, and resilience as essential aspects of both student and faculty life., • Cultivate a sense of belonging, trust, and safety within your advisory group., • Facilitate goal-setting conversations and review progress regularly., • Monitor each students schedule and overall balance of learning, wellbeing, and personal development., • Ensure that advisees meet all graduation requirements, including:, • Mastery of Learning Targets, • Completion of a Service Learning Project, • Portfolio Presentation of Learning, • Completion and Presentation of a Capstone (Mastery) Project, • Participation in the Inside Out Student Wellness Program Learning Facilitation As a learning designer and facilitator, you will create rich, student-centered experiences that make the world the classroom. You will ensure all learning aligns with TGS Learning Targets and Think Potential competencies. Global Immersion Modules • Deliver our innovative, place-based, and interdisciplinary learning modules in each country. Each module is co-delivered by two educators., • Collaborate with fellow educators to connect disciplines and design authentic, real-world modules rooted in culture and context., • Incorporate student voice and choice, reflective practice, and creativity into every learning opportunity., • Embed global perspectives and culturally inclusive content throughout all learning experiences., • Integrate community partners and local environments into the learning process., • Consistently weave the following learning principles into all modules:, • Student Voice & Choice, • Connected and Experiential Learning, • Reflection and Metacognition, • Innovation and Design Thinking, • Guide students through their self-designed Mastery Projects, helping them develop purpose-driven inquiry and reflective habits, using a Design Thinking framework., • Leading the development, alignment, and teaching of specific subject area,, • Articulate clear learning outcomes and standards for each project or module., • Use diverse, competency-based assessment strategies to monitor progress., • Differentiate assessment methods to meet varied learning styles and readiness levels., • Communicate assessment outcomes transparently and regularly with students and parents., • Help students build capacity for self-assessment, reflection, and goal setting aligned with the Think Potential model. Residential Life (Student Life) As part of a traveling boarding school community, you play a central role in shaping student life and culture. • Participate in residential life duties, including weekday and overnight supervision helping cultivate a vibrant, safe, and inclusive living-learning community., • Implement TGS policies and procedure to ensure the health and safety of students, • Supervise students when assigned, • Co-create fun and interesting activities outside the classroom that leverage country location offerings, • Share on-site duty supervision schedule with other educators at student residence which will include overnight duties, • Report any concerns regarding student welfare, • Assess and support students health and healthy habits You may also be asked to support, conduct and be an active participant in the Inside Out wholebeing program. weXplore Trips As a global educator, you are entrusted with designing and guiding trips in-country. • Successfully work with other staff to co-design, lead and supervise a 5-8 day in-country excursions with a group of 10-15 students, • Follow procedures and protocol for the planning, conducting and ending of a trip, • Complete necessary risk assessments, follow safety protocols, and communicate concerns promptly. Safety As a globally mobile educator, you are entrusted with ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all students. • Exercise sound judgment when planning activities and excursions using our Risk Assessment Forms., • Follow TGS Safe Protocols and each countrys Local Emergency Action Plans., • Each week, participate in residential and on-duty supervision rotations, including overnight responsibilities., • Build relationships with local partners who can support emergency preparedness and community safety., • Report concerns or incidents promptly to the Principal or leadership team. Networking and Collaboration In this role, you will work closely with colleagues, partners, and communities to enrich learning experiences and strengthen the TGS network. • Collaborate across departments to ensure seamless delivery of program elements., • Partner with In-Country Coordinators, community organizations, and PBL partners to co-design authentic learning., • Seek and share innovative ideas, approaches, and local resources that enhance student learning., • Engage in ongoing professional learning by exploring literature, conferences, and peer exchange., • Actively share insights and new approaches with the broader TGS team. Technology and Innovation As an innovative educator, you will leverage technology to connect, enhance, and extend learning. • Participate in ongoing professional development around educational technology., • Model a growth mindset toward the use of digital tools., • Explore and share best practices for integrating technology into experiential and virtual learning., • Stay informed on trends in distance, blended, and digital education, ensuring relevance and adaptability in your teaching practice. Program Development and Administration As a member of a reflective, evolving learning community, you contribute to the continuous improvement of TGS programs and practices. • Engage in collaborative planning, review, and evaluation of school programs., • Support inspection, accreditation, and documentation processes as required., • Maintain accurate academic records and student journals through approved platforms., • Communicate proactively with families and stakeholders about student progress., • Assist in logistical coordination with in-country teams, ensuring smooth delivery of all program elements., • Reflect on and advance the TGS mission and values by modeling curiosity, empathy, and adaptability in all aspects of your work. Secondary Roles and Responsibilities • Collaborate and coordinate with other departments within the TGS Organization, • Support Onsite In-Country Coordinator with logistics, i.e transportation, lodging, medical facilitation, technology needs, etc., • Support marketing efforts as requested, • Participate in other duties as assigned What It Feels Like This is not a conventional teaching role. Every few months, life changes completely with a new country, new culture, new context. Its both exciting and exhausting, challenging and profoundly meaningful. Youll teach outdoors, in communities, on long bus rides, and sometimes over shared meals. Youll mentor a student through a project that changes how they see the world. Youll debrief a day of fieldwork in a reflection circle that changes how you see yourself. TGS educators are part of a community that believes learning should be lived so that the best classrooms are found in the world itself. Physical Requirements • Frequently move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds (22kg) for various classrooms and events needs., • Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions., • Typical physical fitness level: As a traveling boarding school. Staff employed are required to participate on extended expeditions outside the normal school day. Staff will be required to move on their own with little assistance, carry 20-65 pounds (10 - 25kg) over varying terrain, enter and exit a boat with little assistance and be able to upright themselves in case of a boat tipping. Staff will be on and off trail at elevations of 7,000-14,000 feet. Required Skills • Ability to develop and deliver effective educator driven workshops for students with special emphasis on PBL, Competency-based Assessment, student driven projects and integration of technology., • Excellent leadership, organizational skills and attention to detail., • Flexible, adaptable and open to change., • Strong personal motivation, initiative, follow through and commitment., • Knowledge of TGS program and skill requirements., • Ability to work both independently and cooperatively as a team member and give and receive both positive and constructive feedback., • Able to prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously., • Very strong and effective communicator, both written and oral., • Familiarity with learning opportunities within assigned countries, • Leadership and organizational skills to manage small and large groups., • Technology Skills: Competency with Google apps especially Calendaring, Spreadsheets, Forms, and AI Gemini, • Technology Skills: Ability to self-assess personal skill level and the motivation to learn new skills., • Ability and desire to live and work in a communal setting that is both a professional place of business and a home to students and staff., • Strong personal motivation, initiative, and commitment, • Current First Aid certification required
