Job DescriptionDescription: SUMMARY: This position is responsible for providing safe and adequate transportation for clients engaged in services or looking to utilize services within STARS. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Demonstrate a working knowledge of policies and procedures needed to ensure continuum of services provided by STARS. · Knowledge and understanding of the contract between STARS and the City of Spokane. · Ability to communicate positively and effectively with Spokane Police Department, Spokane Fire Department, and other social service agencies and local businesses. · Work directly with Spokane Fire Department and Spokane Police Department to divert individuals experiencing acute withdrawal, moderate to severe intoxication, and other behavioral health crises into STARS services. · Do “sweeps” of core downtown area to identify individuals experiencing behavioral health crises and facilitate movement into STARS services. · Transport clients between STARS facilities. · Work with diversion staff to transport clients from emergency departments into STARS services. · Maintain concise records of daily activities, transports, pickups, and reports vehicle concerns to supervisor. · Maintains cleanliness of the vehicle. · Maintains cleanliness of parking areas and sidewalks to include: litter removal, snow removal, de-icing. · Assists with facility maintenance and staff safety. · Attends all mandatory meetings and trainings. · Performs other related duties as assigned by management. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: · This job has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS: · High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. · Certificates, licenses and registrations required: Valid Washington State Drivers License and clean driving record for at least three years (no moving violations of any kind); EMT certification preferred; CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire.
