OMNTEC is now seeking a Technical Sales Trainer to lead the development and delivery of specialized training programs for OMNTEC Solutions. In this hands-on role, you will create high-impact courseware that transforms complex technical product knowledge into practical, results-oriented sales tools, then deliver it directly to our internal sales team, independent manufacturers’ representatives, distributors, and service partners. You will work side-by-side with commercial stakeholders to equip them with the skills to confidently sell, position, configure, and quote OMNTEC solutions in competitive environments. This is not a generic sales-training position—it is a technical leadership role where your ability to rapidly master intricate product details and turn them into clear, actionable training will directly drive revenue growth and partner success. The ideal candidate is a quick-study technical expert with a proven track record of building and delivering product-specific sales training that moves the needle. You thrive on diving deep into advanced technologies, collaborating with engineering teams, and crafting engaging learning experiences that eliminate knowledge gaps and empower teams to overcome technical objections in the field. Strong presentation and communication skills, combined with real-world experience in technical sales or training, are essential. This role is based at OMNTEC headquarters, Ronkonkoma, Long Island New York and reports to the Sales Operations Manager. Technical Sales Trainer – Key Responsibilities • Build a comprehensive technical sales training program from the ground up across the OMNTEC, VMI, and TankActive product portfolios., • Develop role-specific training tracks tailored for direct sales staff, independent manufacturers’ representatives, distributors, and service partners., • Create and deliver onboarding programs for new hires as well as ongoing development programs for existing sales teams and channel partners., • Design and maintain product certification tracks, training decks, playbooks, objection-handling guides, demo scripts, quoting guides, and video-based training content., • Train commercial teams to clearly articulate product features, benefits, use cases, and competitive advantages., • Teach sales teams how to properly identify the right solution for each customer application rather than simply describing product specifications., • Deliver in-depth quoting training covering product selection, configurations, BOMs, accessories/options, price book usage, quote tools, and CRM/ERP workflows., • Improve sales consistency and messaging quality across all internal and external sales channels., • Support cross-sell and upsell training initiatives across OMNTEC, VMI, and Tank Active offerings., • Deliver training through onboarding sessions, quarterly refreshers, product launches, and annual distributor certification cycles., • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Technical Support, Product Management, Sales Operations, and sales leadership to ensure all training content is accurate, current, and field-ready., • Identify knowledge and readiness gaps in sales reps and channel partners and proactively communicate those gaps to sales leadership., • Successfully build core training content and processes from the ground up., • Reduce ramp time for new sales representatives., • Improve consistency of product messaging across all sales channels., • Increase quote accuracy and reduce common quoting errors (incorrect product selection, missing accessories, etc.)., • Increase the number and consistency of trainings delivered to the sales organization and channel network., • Proven experience building technical sales training, product training, or sales enablement programs from the ground up., • Direct experience training distributor networks and channel partners., • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn complex technical products and translate them into clear, practical sales guidance and training materials., • Experience delivering training to diverse audiences with varying levels of technical and commercial knowledge., • Hands-on experience teaching or supporting product selection, configuration, quoting processes, and solution development., • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills for both virtual and in-person training sessions., • Strong self-starter mindset with the ability to create structure in ambiguous environments and drive projects to completion with minimal supervision., • Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners who may be resistant to change or loyal to legacy products/processes., • Experience in petroleum equipment, fuel systems, automatic tank gauging, leak detection, line leak detection, industrial instrumentation, or other technical industrial B2B markets., • Background working in highly regulated, compliance-driven product environments., • Prior experience selling technical products (sales or sales engineering background is highly valued, even if the primary expertise is in training or enablement)., • Familiarity with sensors, controllers, software platforms, mobile workflows, and real-world technical field applications., • Experience creating video-based learning content, LMS platforms, training modules, and assessments.
