Job Description Position Summary The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all cleaning and sanitation activities within a food production facility. This role leads and trains the sanitation team, ensures compliance with food safety and regulatory standards, and keeps the facility and equipment in a clean and safe working condition. The ideal candidate has experience supervising sanitation teams within refrigerated or food processing environments and understands the requirements of GMPs and SSOPs. Key Responsibilities * Lead, train, and coach sanitation team members on proper sanitation procedures, food safety standards, and company policies. * Ensure production areas, equipment, and tools are cleaned and sanitized to required standards and ready for use before shift start. * Conduct routine pre-operational and post-operational sanitation inspections. * Monitor and maintain proper use, handling, and storage of sanitation chemicals. * Ensure team members follow personal hygiene guidelines including proper uniform, PPE, and handwashing practices. * Oversee the cleaning and sanitation of production floors, tools, equipment, break rooms, restrooms, and supporting areas. * Maintain sanitation records including logs, inspection forms, corrective actions, and cleaning schedules. * Identify and report sanitation concerns, equipment issues, or safety hazards. * Work closely with production and maintenance teams to support smooth shift transitions. * Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance sanitation efficiency and food safety compliance. Qualifications * 4+ years of sanitation experience in food or beverage manufacturing; prior supervisory or lead experience preferred. * Strong understanding of GMPs, SSOPs, and food safety regulations (FDA, USDA, GFSI or similar). * Ability to train and lead sanitation employees effectively. * Strong communication and organizational skills. * Able to work in cold or refrigerated environments. * Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and perform physical tasks. * Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Work Environment * Work is performed in food production areas, including cold or refrigerated rooms. * Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching. * May be required to work nights, weekends, or overtime depending on production needs.
