Position Summary: The Chef Instructor will be responsible for leading?culinary?instruction both in classroom and within the kitchen for various culinary training programs offered by Kitchens for Good. The?Chef?Instructor will work closely with the Manager of Culinary Instruction, Instruction Team, Culinary Team, and Career Service Coordinators to ensure apprentices are job-ready within a learning culture that is industry-informed, trauma-informed, and learner-centered. Instruction will take place at Kitchens for Good headquarters and at various offsite locations, including the East Mesa Youth Detention Facility. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Culinary Instruction • Assist in designing training schedule that incorporates classroom and hands-on kitchen training., • Prepare and present lesson plans using course curriculum., • Conduct hands-on cooking instruction in classroom and kitchen setting., • Provide one-on-one coaching to reinforce professional communication, conflict resolution, and team building with a trauma-informed lens., • Develop creative instructional methods to engage apprentices in the learning process., • Administer practical work readiness assessments., • Work one-on-one with participants to ensure comprehension of lessons and information., • Collaborate with training site partners to create and maintain a positive and safe learning environment.
